Greetings!

Post by nbldnb » Tue Jan 14, 2014 7:16 am

Well hello everyone!

I am not new to festivals, but I am new to Burning Man....which seems oh so quiet different, for all the right reasons.
This year being my first year attending BM, I am just reading a lot, watching videos, and guides....
However I am an artist (painting/music) and I would love to play my muisc, conduct art, but am not sure how do I have to do it, since I do not have a camp,
nor do I have any friends who have ever attended BM, or going with me (I don;t think).

After reading a lot of posts on here, it seems a lot of newbies get treated as n00bs in video games, so I just need someone to guide me, and not "burn" me lol

However, I am glad to be part of this community, and hope to grow with it :)

Thank you

Welcome.

You don't need a camp to play music, that can be done nearly anywhere, at least, acoustically. You can paint on the playa, although personally I choose not to do that as clean up is a bitch. Look around at the theme camps, you may find one which gives seminars or classes, and would welcome a guest instructor. Or just set up a little portable easel and invite folks to jump in.

This is my project, anyone can set up a mini one of these at any small, no matter what size. Just a random happy gift for the neighborhood you land in?

nbidnb, welcome to eplaya and to being a new burner! Not everyone treats burgins like n00bs. AntiM gave you some good advice. I would suggest reading up on the Camps available. I can recommend a few, just pm me. A lot of people go to CenterCamp and play music for the masses. It's a great place to sit, relax and connect with folks!

As far as things you read in here, good advice is served up all the time, and so is snark. You'll get a thick skin after a while! :D You can make great connections in here for the most part!

Again, welcome welcome welcome!
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.
