The Lazy Man's* Guide to Caravansery
Okay, lowest common denominator ideas for the theme. And some sort of pool on how many times you're going to have to hear "I Want to See You Belly Dance".

I'm going to say "Abracadabra," really drawn out like, every time a hottie of any gender, race or species suddenly walks into view.
When offered a drink of any sort, my retort will be "Open Sesame, Baby!"
With dread though I look at the Caravansey of Wednesday, Hump Day.

Well, going with the whole Lawrence of Arabia thing,

I was thinking a sheet wrapped around my head and one of these:

Can we get a "Works in Progress" to follow the process of rebuilding the horse as a camel?

Re: The Lazy Man's* Guide to Caravansery
On Wednesday, everyone will need to crack the Hump Day GEICO commercial joke that TTG posted in the other thread. Buy a bullhorn or just yell loudly "WHAT DAY IS IT TODAY?!!!!" to passerbys and they blink and look confused, you tell them: "IT'S HUMP DAY ASSHOLE!" so they roll their eyes and get even more pissed when the next camp does it to them too. Do it all the way until midnight even if nobody is there. Maybe with a camp found across the street.
"Hey Boyd! WHAT DAY IS IT TODAY?!?!!"
"It's HUMP DAY!!!!"
"BAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!!"
Another bit of quality everyone can bring to the event is setting up a boombox and play "My Humps" by the Black Eyed Peas on short loop. Maybe every toilet can have that being played with one of those vibrating audio players.

I think the most accurate answer is, yes. They'd tie them together with rope, throw them in rivers and shoot one of them.

Re: The Lazy Man's* Guide to Caravansary
One of the easiest/laziest aspects of the theme is that a lot of things that people already do every year, regardless of theme... is now in theme.
Belly dancing? Check
Tribal stuff? Check
Bedouin tents/clothes/whatever? Checkity check check
Does that make it any better or worse? Not really. How much of Burning Man is ever really dialed in to that year's theme in any given year? Some, but not a lot.
Could an argument be made for there being an upside for the theme being more accessible and adaptable to things that people were going to do anyways? Maybe. It gets people thinking, and riffing on ideas, and whether or not that's any good for humanity or not... I think it's a lot of fun.
Clearly, I'm going to need to get a fez.

How could we have forgotten this bit of cringe-worthy international cultural exchange. No wonder they hate our freedom...

(Note that they no longer have the tagline "He Smokes for Pleasure." Because it was too easily turned into "Meet the Jerk, He Strokes for Pleasure" and heaven forbid we should mention sex. And it looks like Camel was obnoxious long before Joe...)
