Well. The tower selected for the Amtrakathon party last year was one of the no smoking towers. But it was rumored that the penalty cleaning fee for smoking in a non-smoking room at the Sands was a mere token pittance. Which turned out to be true, at that time, though I fear it has changed.

Anyway, there was a room, a clearly labeled NO SMOKING room, that was quite lavishly smoked-in. Multiple visits from hotel security ensued, in purported response to some unknown persons who complained of being "disturbed." And there was, in fact, frequently to be found in the room, a person who maybe should not have entered the building, not to mention thick clouds of several kinds of smoke. So with all this going on the knocks on the door became a bit nerve-plucking. Much better to have a password. A kind and lovely lady of our acquaintance suggested "Pineapple."

I got a scare today at work. They moved up our inventory to start on Monday, and well, I was going to be coming home that day from my fun weekend. It all worked out though... My plans are not changing. I think this trip will put me in the absolute best head space to be in.

I've got an errand or two and was thinking about driving up on Sunday. Hours are flexible.

I changed the engine air filter in my car, and bought a new wiper for the back window. forgot about the cabin air filter, and needing to use the heater more... I'll pick one up tomorrow. I bought soda and juice and Rock star for the drive. Made a mix tape. (or the digital equivalent.) Ygmir, do NOT get sick. Drink your soup, tea, herbs, whatever it takes. I use zinc lozenges on the first day of the itchy sticky throat before the congestion sets in.
Just Joe, we'll keep you posted. I think a playa trip is going to happen.
