Re: The Bar 2014 Edition
Hello Bar! Things have been all kinds of busy lately, but I wanted to peek in and wave to all those gearing up for a weekend of decadence and debauchery.
Now I'm off to go do some digging through our storage space. A much needed cleaning and organizing, but on the upside I'm sure to wind up covered in playa dust!

Bentonite? How much? Which type, calcium or sodium? Will it be regular bentonite, or KOSHER?

Some time back we discussed how my brother could seal his leaky duck pond, and I received general agreement that Bentonite was the stuff. And the pond got sealed, although I wasn't there to read the label.
Yes, I'm back from my procurement expedition! Kind'a like a trek to China on the Silk Road, but slightly quicker. One chaise, two ottomans, one medium rug and one small round rug. That small round rug was from the the rascally people, and they turned out to be mostly just clueless. Nice family, recent immigrants... from a Silk Road country. Well, maybe they weren't honest in their CL methods, but otherwise no worries. (I'm reading about Afghanistan right now -- seems thievery is their national sport. Oooops, that wasn't politically correct, was it.)
Also bought some new bicycle tools, while I was in a real town.
Hey MDF, what are you doing following me around on FB and "liking" every time I sneeze? Can't a guy sell a pair of mirrors in peace?
Nap time.

Hahahahahaha, Elliot, I do like the way you sneeze
and, I am very much looking forward to seeing the new furnishings at your camp, and perhaps, finding you in and at leisure and enjoying an adult beverage with you. Instead of just pleading "help me help me" and then running off when I've been helped! So rude.
I am happy tonight, seeing my plans for BRC coming together.
Oh and drinking beer, I am sure that has nothing to do with my good mood
but here, let me pour you something.

Ygmir, yes I have read that it is also used in cosmetics. But is it used in... (don't quite remember -- I've been divorced a while) Pond's Skin Cream?

I swear I am not making this up: When Barbie Benton (though when we were growing up and she was attending Rio Americano High School she was Barbara Klein), her father Dr. Klein was my mom's gynocologist. Nice Jewish girl from the suburbs.

Re: The Bar 2014 Edition
ygmir, Elliot, and anyone else who's interested.
I became aware of the multiplicity of uses for bentonite in the year 2000. Not only do we use it as a primary additive in drilling fluid, but it's also used in abrasive wheels, artificial stone, asphalt, auto polish, batteries, beauty 'mud', bleaching agents, blood albumin, charcoal briquets, bricklayers cement, building blocks, calamine, clay brick, cleansing agents, concrete, crayons, dam sealant, degreasers, de-icers, dentrifices, detergents, dry cell batteries, dye fixatives, dynamite, electrical insulation, fire extinguishers......my list contains well over 200 products.
Baroid Industrial Drilling Products actually picks up the tab for a Jewish rabbi to fly out to their mining operation in Colony, Wyoming to inspect the processing operation. The rabbi actually certifies the bentonite as 'kosher', and it's used as a filter in the production of Manechevitz and Mogen-David wines. Just think, folks, MD 20/20 is produced with kosher bentonite.
I still think it would be a hoot to have a bag of kosher bentonite at Barbie Death Camp and wine bistro.

Ah yes, I remember Barbi Benton. Just didn't recall her face. I even have her telephone number: BR 549.
But I always tried not to fall for unobtainable ladies. Except Petula Clark, Nancy Kwan, Kay Lenz, Christine McVie and Petula Clark.
