Made it home in one piece to some lovely cheers over my blinky bike. Kinda drunk. Not caring about the outcome + beer = Woohoo!
I know on an objective level that as an uncompetitive game that it ranks a s a "poor" game, but it was really entertaining for me.

Hi fishy! Hi mojo! Yep, we're doing fine. Cold and blustery around here, but we're warm and dry.
This year's looking exciting and I've been eyeing the ticket page.

Hahahahahaha, I need a shot of something in my coffee. After a marathon of overtime this weekend, I am now teaching my son to sew while inventing a garment based on an anime. So far the only blood shed has been mine.
Twice! And we have only had to unpick 3 seams.
VC, I salute your brave blinky ride!
Congrats to all the Seattle fans.
Nice to see you, LeChat! Very much hoping to meet you & your lovely wife in BRC this year.
And Mojojita, too.

Good morning all
I was up way too late, and today have more overtime scheduled for a mandatory "customer service" training thing. Cold rain coming down in buckets outside.
Okay more
please thanks.

Re: The Bar 2014 Edition
Well, that was an interesting hangover.
Pretty mild, and it was over by 4am, so I am pretty conscious right now. Lovely drive to work this morning through a winter wonderland.

Well on our way to a respectable 8 inches.
Our big partners meeting has been canceled as everyone off site is "snowed in." Not really buying it as all of us were able to get into the office, but whatever.

Re: The Bar 2014 Edition
First of all, big congrats to the Seahawks and the Cap'n.
Peyton Manning just went down in my estimation. And the Seahawks have a monstrous defense. Wow. Best defense ever in the Super Bowl, says ESPN. I don't normally endorse statements by the pundits, but this one I will. Wow.
Snow forecast tonight, with temnperatures in the single digits, wind chills well below zero. It could be vicious in the morning. But I made it in today.

So I start my new job today working for this coffee company based in Seattle. You might have heard of them. I imagine they are some pretty happy people today...or hungover.
Enjoy your coffee everyone! Have a great day!

Re: The Bar 2014 Edition
Yesterday's game was so boring (...how boring was it?...) that by the end of the third quarter I actually turned on The Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. It was scarcely more entertaining that the Stupor Bowl.
Now I begin the Great Temperance Withdrawal of 2014. No alcohol until at least March 5. I may go all of the way until March 15th if Sacramento is having The Brides of March gathering again this year. That would seem like a good time to have my first drink, all decked out in a bridal gown staggering down Capitol Mall with 50 other burners and members of the NorCal Cacophony Society.

Dude, it WAS that bad. I switched channels in favor of 'Swamp People', just to see Troy Landry shoot a 'gator or two. And then I turned off TV for the rest of the evening, curling up on the sofa with a book instead.Dr. Pyro wrote:Yesterday's game was so boring (...how boring was it?...) that by the end of the third quarter I actually turned on The Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. *wanders in with a blast of cold air, snow on my boots, and frost on my eyelashes* brrrr morning everyone! I think I'll make myself a hot cup of tea and warm up by the pot bellied stove! Hoping everyone is having as good Tuesday! We're getting a good shot of coldness here for the next few days.
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

Drove into work today, not knowing if I'll get home or not. Four inches on the ground and it's still coming. I-70 is closed on both sides of Columbia by serious injury accidents as I write. The temperature is well below 10 degrees F., and salt isn't working too well. The only thing that makes it easier for the driving public is the towplows they have that can do two lanes at once:
[media]
These things also have water tanks on the back to spray out a calcium choloride + salt + water brine that clears things up quite nicely. Above 20 degrees F, they use wastewater from sugar beet refining. I hear they're starting to use cheesemaking brine in Wisconsin for the same purpose, with good results.
Remember, if you have to drive in this muck, adjust your speed slower by about 20 miles an hour to start with. And be careful out there, everyone.....please!
