Yes, our camp members are starting to get the invites from the emails that our camp lead submitted so ....it's working (HOORAY!) It's an honor for our camp, we're very grateful to be included and this year is the camp's 20th! We hope to cook up something fitting for the city!

Aaaaand, while pretty much any other Wednesday I could be home and internet-ready at 3pm EST to buy my ticket, of course 2/12 is the day I'm working 7am-2pm and 4-7pm. And like, cannot get out of it, won't even be in front of a computer for 3 hours. That gives me an hour window, and then 4 hours after the sale has begun. Fuck me.

Sigh. Fingers crossed.

Well, doing this directed group sale is turning out to be a headache within my theme camp, but I'm just very thankful that we have the opportunity. Hooray!

So long as everyone had a profile in advance, and gave the camp leader the first name, last name, and email address that they used for their Burner Profile, everything should be running smoothly. The form the project leader filled out even did a check to make sure what they entered matched the system, so they could check with camp/crew members before the invitation deadline.

Over the years the snafus in the ticketing department were legendary and pages of complaints have been registered here.I,for one have to compliment the system so far.The invite page was rather ingenious.It insured that there would not be any inadvertant "mistakes"with the email and thus the invite.You didn't even have to hit(or forget)a save button.If you did not get the invitation you were hoping for you can't blame Burning Man.

It's not anything to do with Burning Man. Internal camp strife and drama, monetary issues, the like. Didn't mean to make it seem like there were ticketing system issues, sorry! Essentially - life emergency will be preventing one of our core people from coming this year, it has just transpired in the past day or so, and people feel entitled to the ticket, but it's too late now.

Hmmmmm, still haven't gotten the confirmation email though it's not quite 24 hours yet. I do have the button on my profile page so I'm assuming it went through okay. I did check my spam folder, no email.

I'd take that as a cue to start investigating the spamblocking that's going on with your email provider. Log into your email provider's web site, and check the spam/deleted messages folders (though if you're using email from one of the regional telecom carriers like att or pacbell, it may be getting blocked before then). Check your provider's settings to be able to add all email from @burningman.com addresses to a whitelist or acceptable providers list (for example. On GMail I set up a filter so that all email sent from *@burningman.com should never be sent to spam).

Same deal - log in through their web site and then check your spam/deleted folders and set up a whitelist. The confirmation message is automated, and went out before the site would have put the button on your profile page that you're seeing.

so, f*ck me red, bitch......this morning I got an e-mail saying

"We noticed that you were invited to participate in the Directed Group Sale but haven't gotten yourself pre-registered yet."
I have contacted ticketing, case number and all. my profile has an e-mail address that I no longer use as primary contact. I asked to have it changed to the one I use. A promo code was then sent to my old e-mail.

Is the database indexed on user name? email address? or a crossed up mish-mash of q[ge***** ak'm ?

at this point I am afraid to create a NEW PROFILE for fear of flushing it all down the drain
