I got mine.

I wonder if these codes became invalid because we had itchy fingers and clicked on them prior to the sale...cause we just couldn't resist.^Rhino! wrote:trilobyte wrote:EVERYONE - working with the ticket team and provider, they identified the issue with a group of codes that were coming up as invalid. @dirtstu - congratulations!
@Skywater - I had an invalid code issue, but after closing tabs, clearing cache, and refreshing it worked.
@CapSmashy - perhaps there are issues with daily spending limits? That can be a problem on some credit cards, and almost all debit cards.
@Nipple - the sale is definitely not over. The ticket team tells me that there are still plenty of tickets. Congrats!
@tamarakay - I've gotten tickets to popular events with just about every major international ticket seller, as well as many of the independents - busy ticket on-sales are nuts for everyone. Congrats on getting tickets!
@ZorroSings - congratulations! The NU code you're seeing is for a Canadian province (it's at the end of the alphabetical state list, in the section where it says 'select a province'
@cloverstreet - yes.
@Hotel balmoral - people have been able to get tickets.
@Roundabout - the invalid code error had to do with browser cache, not whether you had registered an account.
@SmittyDC - it's fixed.
@EmilyD - it wasn't an issue with the system being overloaded, it was an issue with some of the codes not being recognized. That issue's been resolved.
@KestrelSF - it was a glitch, and has been resolved. Congrats to you and your campmates!
And everybody else, congratulations! It looks like the promo code issue has been resolved, and people are getting through to get the tickets they need.

@Dr Helix - it's been my experience that every ticket on-sale for a popular event gets crazy. Hopefully it'll just be crazy because it's busy, and not because of some kind of glitch.

Re: Directed Group Sale
Burning Man was so much better when......
Seems like only yesterday (cliche) all I had to do was go to the post office with a regular stamped letter to BM Ticket Sale, with a Money Order, on a specific day, not a specific second on a computer.
For those of us who have in the past waited three/four HOURS with getting BM tickets, today was fantastic!

Re: Directed Group Sale
One thing I do know is eventually tickets will be had. I just feel better spending the amount of money I know I have to spend to have tickets verified.
It is incredibly frustrating to do all you are suppose to do, then have it stymied by someone who forgot to hit submit.just made it more stressful than it had to be. Hopefully lessons are learned and someone uses their checklist next time.

@DoctorIknow - mail order sales, ha! Don't forget the days of walk-in sales too. I think Sham has us all beat in the ticket server-hell department, in 2011 it took him something like 12 hours to finally be able to purchase his tickets.

Be patient, I was invalid a hundred times, was in the waiting room, got kicked out of there, did the refresh, enter code another hundred times, BOOM, all of a sudden I got a screen with the tickets to purchase. Got em, it took 50 minutes! You can do it!

Re: Directed Group Sale
Ah the yearly ritual of the first day of ticket sales clusterbleep. Back in the day, it was everyone clamoring for the $140 first tier tickets the second tickets went on sale. Which sometimes would be delayed for days. And the system would always freeze up. Aside from the promo code snafu things went pretty smoothly once that was resolved. Now the only campers we have outstanding are folks that somehow missed responding to the registration email and one that is on a ski slope today. Hopefully there will be tickets left by tonight.

I got mine around 3:54pm EST... Tried at 3pm and it was going haywire. Jumped on via a cleared out smartphone and waited maybe 5 minutes in the queue.

Got mine on a fresh browser immediately after @BManTickets reported the fix for unused codes.
Thanks Trilobyte for trying to keep us all calm and carrying on. I hope this somehow benefits the general sale.

Re: Directed Group Sale
If it was not for Trilobyte I would not have had a clue what to do. Fortunately the combo of fixes, clearing the cache and also sending an email has more than solved everything. Rest of the day was spent planning on how Camp D.O.A. will be bringing decadence to the thirsty citizens of BRC!!
Re: Directed Group Sale
Yep, success on this end after initial panic and cussing at new ticket vendor. Lol, I guess it's just part of the experience. Thanks everyone for posting help and to Trilo for keeping us updated.

Re: Directed Group Sale
Hiccups and snafus seem to be a part of the process. Overall though, as hiccups go that didn't seem to be too terrible - once the code issue was resolved the Ticketfly engine seemed to work pretty smoothly. Congrats to everyone who's gotten tickets in the DGS, now you can get back to work on your awesome camp and project plans
Here's hoping things go even more smoothly for the Main sale!

"Hiccups and snafus seem to be a part of the process"
Why?
I don't think it's unreasonable to think that the opposite should be true. Especially since we were asked to go through steps to get ready for this day. Didn't the provider do the same? Now did everyone ultimately get through? I guess. But there was a LOT of angst in the process and besides Trilo's heroic effort, no one was telling us that there was something wrong, or that they were fixing the problem. And has anyone come forward to say sorry? Show me the apology and I'll gladly take this part back. Everyone did pay a $7.00 processing fee (per ticket) to get these tickets. If that money went to the ticket provider then I think an explanation is in order.

Re: Directed Group Sale
I eventually got mine (though the confirmation email goes to my home account so I can't check it for a couple hours).
I'm wondering if the DGS tickets are sold out now, 4:45 PST? IOW, did we need to jump on the site right at noon or could we have signed up at our leisure in the first few hours?

Even though I'm not buying a DGS ticket, I have access to my ex-camp-leader's profile, which is also skipping DGS tickets but has an invite to it... Just checked, could still get into the ticketing page as of 4:54 pst. Looks like they still have them.
