Excellent, glad to hear you got a nibble this early in the season!

Fishy, it would normally go in the Get Involved - we ask that people posting be a part of the organization running the program. There is someone from Friends of Black Rock/High Rock who posts things in here from time to time, I'm not sure if they're just swamped or had some other plans.

Here's the link to that Reddit thing with the ticket team.

That is a BLM link. And as a federal employee, I'm part of that organization. As an American citizen, I'm a part of that organization. And it's been a long, long time since anyone has posted as a person from the BLM. And it was really a sort of "this is interesting" thing, although if someone did get enthused from my post, I'd be a little smug.

Morning!
Trucking all day every day? Almost killed me. But I did it for about 20 years too long. I trust HerLarry has the good sense to retire long before that.
Hooray for MyDearFriend for all her work to help people thru their illnesses!

Normally, he is regional, driving three to five days then coming home. With Swift in charge, we don't know how it will shake out. He is headed for Milwaukee right now. He's done four weeks out before, any time he has a student it is two to three weeks without a break.

We're really hating on Swift. Their time off policy is whacky... only one request at a time, cannot be cancelled or modified, even if you need a day off beforehand. No more than nine days in advance for the request. With Central, he could put in a year's worth of vacation planning.

Central Trucking retained the name, but with Swift in charge, there are a lot of empty trucks sitting in the terminal, and loads waiting to ship. Larry is annoyed, but not quite enough to quit. He kept his per mile pay and three weeks of paid vacation, has over nine years with Central. Hard decision to stay. Next time the Canadian company asks him to drive the ice road, he might take them up on it.

AntiM....make sure that if he appears on TV on the show 'Ice Road Truckers' that he gets actors' residuals for show reruns in the contract, and a cut on DVD sales.

Hello everyone! Been a while since I've been on. I leave for Aussie-Land Monday night.
The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.

good luck and safe travels, mikgyver!!!

yay Jella!!!

Hi Elliot!!

well, got a 2500 lb piece of black granite for a project, I'll probably put on the "work in progress" thread, since it's BM related.

feelin pretty good, got 20 mpg. running empty at 70 ish mpg in my F250 4x4. Checked both days trips, one with the chip set on "stock", the other with it set at +75 h.p. Same results.

Can't quite believe it's Friday; since my conference runs through tomorrow I will pretend it is Thursday instead. :? These medical conferences always start their meetings, for some reason, at 7 am.

Welcome back Jella! And Gaminwench! And happy trailes, MikeGyver. 8) 8) 8)

Okay now some serious :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: Here's to getting our brains back on line Trilo!!! 8)

Ooooh, huge blocks o rocks and travelers to faraway lands and all sorts of peeples to say hey howdy to! A good start to a Friday.

Rhino, this ice road and this company are not ones featured on TV. Still dangerous, but the company is proud that only one of their drivers has been eaten by a bear. I can't tell if that's a joke. Hmmm.
