With a little over 6 months left till The Man Burns we want to secure our ride. Can pitch in gas money of course, As well as an entertainment factor you'd be missing without us!

I believe our gear can go with the Camp we're staying with. I'll have to double check on that. We may be able to ride with them but we we're advised to find our own way if possible. I'll get back to you on that Figjam.

20-40 gallons of water is a lot, unless your camp is including all of that stuff for you.
Check out the http://rideshare.burningman.com site as well.... Best of luck.

I agree! I'm waiting now to hear if they are cool with taking our gear (water included). Thanks!

If you don't find a rideshare, you can catch the Burner Express into the Burn. If they allow free cancellations, I'd book this sooner than later. (ETA: I checked. Apparently they do not allow refunds.)
2-3 people take up a lot of space, even with only a backpack apiece.
Here's an example of why:
I can get myself + gear and water for 1 into the Burn using a 5-person sedan with adequate trunk space.
I cannot get myself & 1 other person into that very same sedan into the Burn . . . because I have a shade structure, & it's not small.
So--in order for me to be able to take all my stuff to the Burn and THEN fit 2 or 3 people in a car with me, I'd have to be packing light-ish and driving a large SUV or better. (A cargo van is awesome, but then you only have seats for two).
i.e., no harm in asking, but if you don't get an offer, it's cause the space issue is a really intricate one.

Reading the large bold type of your original post and all your replies in the thread, I can only imagine that the three of you would be shouting during the whole ride there and back

Nah. Most likely sleeping. We're grown up enough to appreciate sleep.

That would suck to have a bunch of ppl sleep and you chauffeur thwm to the playa.... All those miles and the driver likely needs an oil change and a detailing of their vehicle... I'd look into my own rental or flying to Reno if I were you 2 or 3...

I know the info for the Burner Express isn't updated for 2014 yet but does anyone know what kind of schedule it will run? I'm looking into flying now but the earliest it looks like I can get in will be 10.30 Pm on the 25th. Just want to make sure i'll have a way in.

Last year, bus service started up the weekend before gates opened to accommodate those who were part of the crew setting up camps and projects (and had early arrivals passes).
