Got the cooler pad measured and cut, and the holes gnawed in a bucket for my FIGJAM cooler.

Fantastic garage sale rug scores this weekend, 9x12 well worn Persianish that will be perfect under shade structure, shampooed and drying over my fence, and a plusher 6x9 with smaller door rug that will be great in tent. $17.00. Also nice silk vest for 50 cents. Saw Big Lots had a bunch of new solar and battery lights.

Started cleaning/organizing my craft room  what a mess.

I have a 3 bedroom apartment, and when my nephew moved in last fall, it just tossed all the stuff from my storage room (3rd) bedroom into my craft room. Now, there's so much stuff in my craft room I can barely move , let alone work. It's hard to clean it out, because there's so little room to move/sort things. My nephew's away for the week, so I've taken over his room. I've piled it all in there and am sorting/purging before putting it in a proper spot in my craft room. I plan to work on it a bit each night this week. I need to get all the stuff out of his room before the weekend. Only problem is, that I'm easily distracted. It's kind of like sending a kid to clean their room ... They put 1 or 2 toys away, then end up playing with the next thing they pick up and totally forget why their there.

Must get it tidied ... I have so many ideas for costumes that I want to start making.

Found an amazing sparkle eyelash yarn that is getting turned into a no-MOOP boa (and made progress on the non-sparkle green version of same).

Came up with my 2015 art project this weekend. Which I admit is a bit counter productive to 2014 projects, but it gives me a chance to test out different yarns and cordage in the dust this year to figure out what holds up best.

Be careful that that is no-MOOP. Koosh once got to the playa and found her eyelash yarn was shedding fiber.

You can run it on a cool tumble in the dryer. That helps get rid of a lot of loose fibers.

This sucker is getting a thorough grooming with a slicker brush before I even think of packing it. I'm a little afraid that the sparkle will be sheddy, but if it doesn't pass the stress tests, it will still be awesome for Seacompression.

I got an order placed with a supplier for a bunch of galvanized steel fittings I'll need for a couple of this year's projects. One is to upgrade our cooler table design and add a few more of 'em, and the other is for a new & improved support structure for the courtyard in our camp. Both those things will be stronger as well as easier to put together on the playa :D

Well I decided to shake things up a a bit and do something for BM 2015 last night.

I did two sample panels of my 2015 art project(for the actual playa, not just my little campsite). I want to see what holds up best on the playa, so I'll affix them to the outside of my monkey hut this year.

Crocheting with paracord was interesting. I love the look and stiffness, but it's rough on the hands. I'm going to have some really interesting callouses and hand muscles in two years.

I'm thinking of putting a fiber optic spray and maybe a new "badge" on the front.

Awesome hat!

Just got this badge on ebay for my trooper hat:

Image but it's a bit more dinged up. I know it's technically a piece of advertising, but it's a defunct event, and BM is pretty much a desert circus.

I'm going to try and have some light around it for night time.

Yeah, that probably works for a lot of attendees.

I LOVE THAT!

Worked on camp layout with fellow mate and discussed it with camp lead.

Signed up for camp meals and in the process got a sneak-peak at which campmates are already planning to be there this year; it makes me smile hugely to recall my friends and to know I'll be seeing them again. :D

My electric kit for my trike arrived Friday. Not easy, but not overly difficult to install. But, one does need an assortment of tools and a good bit of mechanical aptitude.

"One Item a Month":
August 2013 - Build storage box for my 5' x 8' trailer and save money
Sept. 2013 - Schwinn Tricycle and save money
Oct. 2013 - Yeti coolers. Began pre-cooking, vacuum packing and freezing food
Nov. 2013 - Trailer hitch and save money
Dec. 2013 - Save money. Located a local source for dry ice
Jan. 2014 - Pre-Sale ticket
Feb. 2014 - Electric kit for trike
Mar. 2014 - 14' Playa Dome and ground tarps
Apr. 2014 - Alumanet shade tarps, plastic storage boxes, lighting for camp, trike, self and misc. other
May 2014 - 5 gal. water containers and 20 gal. grey water drums and misc. other
June 2014 - Test loading trailer and multiple tests of setting-up and taking down camp
July 2014 - More testing and adjustments

Since I will be traveling alone from Mississippi and being a camp of one, having a year to plot, plan and purchase appears to have been a good plan.

Also, since I am no longer a spring chicken, will be a camp of one and having twin hip replacements, I have been especially mindful of the need to be self-supporting and also being able to manage my camp by myself.

I am sure that there are many things that I have not thought of or prepared for, but these will just add memories to my experience.

My doctor told me that I no longer have to eat three dozen oysters.

All that I have to eat is one oyster. And, place a little blue pill on top.

The weather cooperated this week-end! Gooped the air flow attachment to my bucket cooler lid...poked holes in the tubing and attached the tee connector...tested the pump...ordered another fan to replace the dud (dammit!) - also tested some various rigging ideas for attaching shade to the van - went for a short bike ride - ordered some parts for the solar set up - ignored the dishes in the sink, dust on the furniture and pile of laundry. A very good week-end imustsay. :D
