Argg so apparently I'm not registered?!
Created my burner profile on the 20th and logged in and pressed the button to be registered. Easy!
Today jump on the forum and see everyone is talking about codes and such. Never received any code. Log onto burner profile and cannot register nor see any code. Call my friend to find out he failed to successfully retrieve a code either.
Emailed ticket support. Is this fixable?

check your spam folder in your e-mail , the confirmation code should have been sent to you in a e-mail.

Except there's no code listed in his profile. I believe it is reasonable to assume that no registration code in profile = no expectation of an email = not registered.tatonka wrote:check your spam folder in your e-mail , the confirmation code should have been sent to you in a e-mail.
When they clicked to register, they should have:
- been assigned a registration code,
- had that code displayed on the screen (viewtopic.php?f=367&t=68382#p998574)
- had that code attached to their profile and subsequently displayed in their profile (viewtopic.php?f=367&t=68386#p998675)
- sometime later, received a confirmation email, with either that same registration code, or a new confirmation code (with their profile displayed registration code updated to match).

Yeah the code showed up on my profile when I checked an hour later. Though it later changed (Separate, resolved issue) it was there. If he shows as unregistered something went wrong, though I suspect user error. You did make sure the request went through, right? You didn't just close out the window after hitting submit?

The user interface was designed to cut down on the number of successful applicants.

Re: Argg so apparently I'm not registered?!
Having done some pretty extensive testing in multiple browsers/devices, I can't imagine a scenario where you actually clicked the button to register and got the message on screen but then are not actually registered. It only displays the successful registration info once the necessary back-end stuff has happened, and as others had mentioned the promo code is displayed in the Burner Profile dashboard as a failsafe against the acknowledgement and reminder emails being caught in a spam filter.
Only the ticket team can answer your question for you. They should be able to look at your login records to confirm that you logged in when you say you did, and may be able to help. If not, there's STEP, the after-market, and the OMG sale.

Re: Argg so apparently I'm not registered?!
Every single person I talked to took a screen shot and/or picture or their monitor when they got their code.
You said you pushed the button to register.. but did you also sit there and wait until a message popped up on your screen indicating it successfully went through? If so, that must mean it displayed your number. Did you just close the window without writing that number down? I'd do anything other then brake the law to get a ticket.. I made sure I wrote that number down.. took a screen shot and even pulled out the camera and took a picture of my monitor. Perhaps in the future doing one of those three things might help. I'm sure it would be a lot easier to get added to registration if you had a confirmation number to give the ticket people.

Can you at least admit that nuclear explosions are awesome!?
Re: Argg so apparently I'm not registered?!
But with the overload of the system that first day, I pressed three times, with the screen restoring itself to its starting position each time, but without it displaying anything else. On the fourth try, it displayed the number. So someone not knowing that they should have a registration number displayed, the first three tries might look like each had succeeded.
But then, that's why I logged into my profile to see if there was a registration number recorded there...

Re: Argg so apparently I'm not registered?!
The system was tested as designed but designed poorly. It displays misleading login forms when you are in fact logged in and "sparkly things" as an interface option, that is just beyond the pale. The fact that you have to get your ticket during North American day job times is also a tactic to reduce the pool of people able to buy a ticket. Anti-user experience design. IMO.

As easy as it should have been I also had a confusing time on my Burner Profile when registering and apparently I didn't get properly registered. Bummed.

Check back on the boards regularly, we'll have additional information about STEP as soon as it's announced. We'll also open up our ticket boards as soon as the ticket team gives us the green light that they'll start processing ticket order changes and transfers).
