A reasonable level of excitement might be considered to be the expectation that when DVD Burner says he's leaving for good - after the 15th time - that he might actually follow through with it.What is a reasonable level of excitement?
DO IT ! DRIVING ACROSS AMERICA IS ON MY BUCKET LISTdaratheresa wrote:back to the "reasonable level of excitement" thing...
i bought a car the day before yesterday after having been without one for some months. i was not as excited as i was when i bought my ticket for burning man. not even close.
though now i am contemplating driving across the entire damn country to get there instead of flying. i've never done it, it kind of sounds like fun...
I love road trips......*jealous*......daratheresa wrote:back to the "reasonable level of excitement" thing...

If you have the time, do it. Especially if you have time to stop impulsively and explore. As a child, we moved cross-country several times. I am in love with the passing scenery, the weird little places, the houses, the truckstops, well, dammit, America. Plus the scenery when you get out West is like nothing else.daratheresa wrote:back to the "reasonable level of excitement" thing...

i wouldn't have much time to stop, and would have to split driving with someone due to time constraints, taking turns driving and sleeping. but even then i still think it'd be fun. will find out this weekend if it's possible or not...AntiM wrote:If you have the time, do it. I'm on the east coast as well, and I made the decision to drive cross-country to get to Burning Man with my girlfriend, once she gets back. She's been out of the country for a loong time teaching English to Japanese kiddies, so we are going to tour America together and burn the Man to celebrate her coming back for good.daratheresa wrote: i wouldn't have much time to stop, and would have to split driving with someone due to time constraints, taking turns driving and sleeping. but even then i still think it'd be fun. will find out this weekend if it's possible or not...
