Does anyone have opinions on the wisdom of using tie-downs versus tape anchors?

So am I understanding correctly that you don't have the straps across the roof? If so, then you are substituting the straps for rope tie-downs, correct?Train Wreck wrote:I've always used ratchet straps through the tape anchors. Then I metal tape the tape anchor seams. Correct. This is on a H6, so I could easily use the halo method-- I just never found it necessary. Big thing is to cover the tape anchor seams with metal tape or some other covering so the sun doesn't destroy the glue. 6" bi-filament tape isn't UV treated. So am I understanding correctly that you don't have the straps across the roof? The ratchet straps can be easily tightened whereas rope requires knowledge of knots. Knotty Knowledge... sounds like a kinky theme camp.Is there a particular reason you prefer this arrangement rather than using just straps instead of tape anchors?
