Of course we all now wonder what your weight was then...

I've been thinking about this all day. (your regime, not your sex life) And I keep clicking on your using Soda as your caloric fix. It occurs... over and over again... that maybe empty calories in a high caffeine solution is actually working against you here.

Have you tried protein powder shakes?

I think it was the caffeine and sugar just got me going I was doing more stuff , so I was more active and burned more calories.

I am in my second month of carbonated beverage sobriety-along with almost all caffeine. I will be having a vertical sleeve gastrectomy in the next few weeks. I had dieted (Medifast) all the way down to within 10 pounds of what I weighed when I graduated from high school, but a combination of surgery that kept me from exercising and the unexpected passing of my spouse knocked me off the wagon and it all came back. I hope to present a leaner, more comfortable me at BRC in 2015.

Talk about extreme diets!! In 2015 I've had exactly 5 ounces of wine and a glass of sangria. (That was with dinner before the ukulele show last weekend). It's been a month so I'm used to drinking juice now instead of a glass of wine with dinner. I don't notice any weight loss but that's OK.

I've been eating super clean

No sugar, wheat, grains, processed food, dairy, diet sodas, etc

I've lost 16 pounds

The only cheat day I had was at the Sands party and it was minimal. Oh and I had 1 beer last night watching the game.
Oh my god, it's HUGE!

But there are so many health reasons to drink a glass or two of red wine with dinner! Seriously.

Good for you Lucky! I'm moving in the clean direction. This is my reverse elimination idea(so I don't have a meltdown like I did in October)
Jan: no wheat
Feb: no wheat, no white sugar
March: no dairy, no trans fats, no wheat, no sugar
April: alternative grains (no white rice), etc, etc
May: all bets are off, for the month, too busy
June: 2 shakes & a meal. This worked fabulously pre event last year. Lost more than I had ever done in 15 years.

Sigh, to me, eating clean means I wiped off the stove before cooking.

Me too. Eating "clean" in the sense people are meaning here, never worked for me on a long term basis anyway. I lost about 40 lbs just with exercise and counting calories. Didn't matter what I ate, even ice cream, as long as my total day's calorie intake minus calories spent exercising was met. I still do the same thing to maintain, though I've gotten so used to what food calories are, I rarely record it anymore.

I've dropped 11 1/2 pounds since Super Bowl. No liquor, dieting, and exercise. Signed up for the lottery for the New York City Marathon so that was as good a motivator as any I suppose.

Another 2 lbs down. It's not easy but since I map out my meals for the day it makes it a little bit easier to stick to the plan.

I really have this fear that if I dont stick to it those fuckers ( lost pounds) will find their way back to my ass again. Fuckers!

Well folks, I just got home from Mexico and gastric sleeve surgery. I now have only abut 15% of the stomach capacity I had before. Was pain free after 5 days. Should be up to a normal diet, albeit in much smaller quantities, before TTITD. Hoping for about a 60 pound or more weight loss by then. No more Fat Sheik!
