I'm a DIY enthusiast guy in his 20s, I like to build bikes, sculptures, skate spots and shit... ; but what I like most is building weird film cameras from scratch.

This summer/fall I'll go on a road trip from Hollywood Florida to Hollywood California, to meet a lot of DIY/folk/junk/roadside artists all along the way, and to do a photo/video report about their work/life, using only homemade equipment built from junk i will find along my way (yes i really think(hope^^) that i can build a working movie camera with trash
Starting in July and ending in October, I think I'll visit Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Arizona & California.
My route isn't really decided inside those states though…. EXCEPT for a little town in northern Nevada named Black Rock City where something tells me I’ll find quite what I’m looking for!
I don’t think I will bother you burners with fucking cameras everytime though… But I have an art project in mind that could be kinda cool I think : To build on location and giveaway little junk pinhole cameras that can record a whole week of exposure, so you wouldn’t see faces of people, but just their art, the evolution of the temporary city, and so on…
Here’s an example i shot : 6months exposure where you can see a building that wasn’t done at the beginning, but was finished at the end : the sun pathes are going through...

I also put 3 cameras on 3 moving cranes on the construction site :

Could be cool to put these on a mutant vehicule for example…
Well, this is what i’d like to propose !
On a side note : if you know some cool stuff i should not miss during my diy artist road trip, or even better, if you’re an artist and want to meet, hit me up !
Cheers
Steven.
