My first year I went to BM I didn't know what to expect. I went by myself. I went there with no expectations at all. Somebody did, however, tell me that it would change my life forever. It did. She also told me it would be a life-altering experience. It was. It has changed me in a hundred different ways. My first year felt very healing and spiritual. I came away from it feeling like I was gonna be okay; that life was gonna be okay again. Long story.

My second year I kinda went with expectations of repeating the same exact wonderful experience of the previous year. It was the wrong thing to do, 'cuz it wasn't the same. I took my mom with me who didn't have a good time and left 2 days into it. For 2 days afterwards, I felt incredibily sad and guilty that she didn't have a good time and that she had left. Some people just are not cut out for 40 mph winds, dust, failing shelters, and desert heat.

Later I realized that everything happens the way it's suppose to happen. As it turned out, she went to my house and had an unexpected gloriously wonderful time with my daughter (her grandaughter) who had come home early from her trip. Both had been estranged for 8 years and got the opportunity to kiss and make up and have a great fucking time together!! (So, I guess indirectly, BM helped heal that relationship.)

My second year was a big huge fucking party. I was smashed practically the whole time, dancing, playing, singing, getting sunburnt, wandering around and meeting people.

What am I hoping to find at future Burning Mans? I've already found it. I've found myself. I hope to find more of me. I'm hoping to find new unpredictable experiences, new friends, images of smiles and feelings of love that stay in my heart forever.

:P

Oohooh! The interrogation squad is right up my alley. First I'll visit the breasty camp to be appropriately smothered in boobies (I'm too shy to show mine - they are real, maybe if they werent I'd wanna show them off), then I'll express my excitement by brutally interrogating whomever is nearby. That sounds like a good way to spend an afternoon...

What's your deal, Nightterror?

Post by othereye » Fri Apr 08, 2005 1:50 pm

What are you, stalking me? What's your point? Just going to find every post I make and respond to it by quoting me? If you've got something to say on the matter, say it in the original thread. Don't drag it around the eplaya and set it down wherever you find me.

I, for one, am confused. It seems I was quoted too (although somehow the post landed before mine :?: ) Does this mean Nightterror agrees or disagrees? Othereye, maybe stalking is a form of flattery?

Cuz I can.

Post by Donna Matrix » Tue Apr 26, 2005 2:54 pm

I go cuz I can. When I can't anymore, I won't. Of course, that will be a drag, but I won't be able to do a thing about it, now will I?

Plus, I see what I see, nothing more, nothing less. I will meet who I meet. All the other people I don't meet will meet other people, some of whom I might meet. It's all works out. Trust me.

I am doing my first art work. I want people to look at it. I want them to take from it what they take from it. There is no hidden agenda. I'm doing it cuz I can and I have the free materials laying around right now. Well, I did have to get a few things, but hey - I had the money to buy them with, so it all worked out, SEE.

Anybody want to visit me? *kiss*

A sense of community and total acceptance, and artistic inspiration that I can carry with me and use all year round. And each year I find what I'm looking for.
