why don't you just save yourself some time and trouble and come directly to my tent?

How efficient! I guess I don't need to be handing out rubber bands on my greeter shift now. Thanks!fetching wrote:DallasPlaya wrote:While at Burning Man, could you please wear a piece of string or rubber band on your left or right wrist so we single/looking people know that you're in a relationship and not available? Uh...
what could a 30 year-old have to say to me that I'd be interested in?
Uh...Really?
I think you underestimate some of the rare individuals out there. A friend of mine brought a woman along on a camping trip a few months ago. She was born in Iran, educated partly in the U.S. and partly in Europe, was getting a degree in biosciences, had amazing insights about emotional intelligence and practical interpersonal relations from years of therapy trying to cope with difficult family problems, seemed to be conversational in contemporary music, was handy cooking on a propane stove, and was 20 years old. Also, I couldn't take my eyes off her. So if you have 7 days to find a wife, as you said, which is a reasonable proposition I suppose, are you going to turn her down because she's too young?

Not a "single-minded focus". You ever go to a restaurant? How efficient is this:CagedKitty wrote:Wow, you sounded like you were 20. I don't generally search for a mate. I'd miss out on so many other things with sucha single minded focus. This would really be funny if you were joking.
"I'll have the turkey dinner."
"The turkey is not available."
"Oh then I'll have the ham."
"Oh, sorry, the ham isn't available either."
"Then I guess I'll just have a hamburger."
"Sorry, the hamburger isn't available."
"Hmm...what do you have?"
"I can't tell you, sir. Keep trying and maybe you'll hit on something that is available."

Yeah, the under-30 girls at the dog park are always saying I shouldn't worry about age so much, too. It's tempting but I want more than just another booty call.houdithecat wrote:I think you underestimate some of the rare individuals out there. Not 7 days to find a wife. 7 days to collect as many phone numbers and email addresses as possible for the next stage of the wife-hunting process.

What shift do you have? I'm definitely going to find you now. I blow thru there constantly on Poop Patrol, and worked there last year pre-event. Sweethang's one of my Favorite Participants. She made a sign on the "break room" board: "If you say nothing else, talk about the porta-potties."DallasPlaya wrote:How efficient! Just look for the red Toy-truck w/ DPW stickers.

Don't know yet. I usually just walk up there and ask them when a good time is and anytime seems to be a good time. We are definitely meeting at the meet & greet, Robbi.robbidobbs wrote:What shift do you have? I'm definitely going to find you now. Archi McFee may have the exact rubber band you're looking for:
here
plus the evil jesus
SEVEN DEADLY SIN BRACELETS
It started with yellow bracelets before moving on to every color of the
rainbow and every cause under the sun. That's great for positive,
constructive people, but what about the cynics and smart asses? Where
is
their bracelet? Each 7 Deadly Sin Bracelet celebrates a human weakness.
Whether you enjoy gluttony, greed or plain old lust, just pop on one of
these bracelets and show off your fatal flaw.

She is very proud of her jellyfish scar picked up in Viet Nam and is spending October in Columbia. When we are out and she is really tarted up I introduce her as my technical and legal advisor; the EE and law degrees you know. I will admit that when we were talking about the evolution of religious thought she was shaky about Zorasterism and had only vaguely heard of Mithira.
Actually we find a lot to talk about.
So I thought that I would give an update. The 28 year old and I did not work out in a romantic or other fun stuff sort of way but she is turning into one of my best buds. We meet up at about once a week and email about every other day. Here is a bit from today's back and forth; it started one way and ended up about 'female' things and I wrote:I'm 37. Really, the 30+ age requirement thing is to keep myself in check. I mean, I have met some very cool women who are under 30 and women under 30 do want to date me (I'm hot) but it's like the lifestyle thing -- I want someone who is on the same page as I am in life. And really, I can appreciate people of any age. I was just pulling a few legs earlier.

I'm not planning on being in any camp, but if someone wants to adopt me, I'm all for it. I'll need a space that will allow drive-in/out access (which shouldn't be difficult considering the inhabitants of said camps). I was planning on camping by the nearest potty-bank by 9:00, on the outside road. I have no plans otherwise

I might make an exception if you're otherwise perfect for me. I have a 10-page questionnaire you have to fill out first, though. Bring a pen to the playa.Ivy wrote:Well, that leaves me out. I think it's time we rallied around Dallas Playa and found him a wife. I'm sure we could do it with style and a plum and have a great time doing it. Recruitment parade every day on playa? Giant game of Blind Mans Bluff? Pitfall trap for critical titz? We've got the brain power and anything we come up with will be more fun than wearing a rubberband for a week.
