(Just smiling, thinking about all the goodness of the proposed Bar Camp) Damn...if we're not just going to be the freshest, kindest, funniest, and best looking crew out there, then I don't know who else would be!
Seriousily, we are going to have to do an 8 hour shift night watch to keep the energy vampires away from trying to suck on all our magical and energetic sweetness...but then again, I think all of us combined have enough to go around! As far as building ideas, let's just let it do what it does. It will be great.
GO TEAM BAR CAMP!!!
GO TEAM BAR CAMP!!!

As far as numbers go, Rockdad, I'd use the rule of thumb:
"It's better to have (fill in blank) and not need it, then to need (fill in the blank) and not have it."
In this case, our fill in the blank is "space". With Mozy's shade, some cars, etc., I'd do a reasonable shoot-over estimation for what we'll need. Also, this allows for more ideas in the coming months that require small/moderate amounts of space. If it comes up that there is say a 20 x 30 ft. patch that we didn't use/fill up, we can:
1).Give the patch to a nice, newcoming camp who shows up later in the week, or
2). Set up a motherf-ing "Crocodile Mile" (oh yeah, we all know the one...20 feet of slippery green plastic and a big inflatable Croc Head Pool at the end...except the pool will be filled with Jello-Vodka shots. Snap.

Speaking from experience...
Last year we had moe space than we asked for, and it was kind of sparse, because we had not expected or designed for all the room we lucked out on.
Knowing what we know now, we have 2 contingency scenarios - a "smaller" space contingency, and a "larger" space contingency. Nice thing is, tho, we have a way to either expand or contract which will benefit the customers (those who drift into our venus flytrap, so to speak) either way, and utilize all the space in which we are granted.
I thinik - and this is just my own thoughts - you (OK, we) need to figure out how *small* a space we need for the bar, and then if we get more, how can it be best utilized... and for what purpose.
Remember, too... altho a lot of people (apparently) will be camping in the bar's vicinity, not all those who will participate in it... and if the allotted space is smaller than, say, outward expectations, we may need to limit how many people can camp there. After all - if we have a group of, say, 30 tents and vehicles to set up for it, and only space for 15 (conceivable) we need to figure out who can camp there, and who can attach themselves to other camps to free up space for those who (like robbi) will be essentially calling it their home base.
Also, don't forget the cleaning and evaporation pond. Even a minor installation like the bar will have water to evap off. And that's square footage that has to be taken into account.
Hugs, y'all...

Very good points Sue I had just sent the Mayor a email prior to seeing your post to see if we can get 50' frontage which would allow for the Mozy tent and Robbi's driveway.
I have also asked him if we need to set a max number of people and what the cutoff date would be from the AEZ point of view.
As to how deep I am counting on his expertise since he has been doing this a long time.
After reading your post I wish I had asked for more because I really asked for the minimum we need 43' bar plus 7' driveway..

Naw... just making sure all the bases are covered. If they're OK with her coming and going...Rockdad wrote:Well I mentioned it to the Mayor...What ya think they would not like it? ...
Then again, I'm kinda the same way.
Just want to be upfront with them so they know what we have planned. I don't forecast a problem (well, my magic 8 ball doesn't, anyway) but I'd ather be safe than sorry...

If AEZ wants to get poofy about the potty goddess, they can take over her job.
We're damned honored to have her and AEZ should come by twice during the week to thank her.
Profusely.

Good News we have the frontage...But the Mayor has some questions that he would appreciate answered I am going to post his reply over inthe backroom, Sue hit one of the questions on the head! But it all seems like resonable questions and concerns.
With a reminder that the AEZ is next to Hushville so we may have problems with generating to much noise especially at night...
I am still very positive about this but everyone needs to read the letter and discuss this either here or there...
I would also appreciate help from someone(glancing over at Sue) to help me compose a response to the Mayor..

Left a note and new subject in the storeroom, er, barback, er, back room.... (Whatever it is, it's there).
Alsoooooo... should think about nominations for Mayor for this year...
I have one certain fish in mind, tho I don't know if she'd want it or if she's going to BRC this year... but her bowl is always at the ePlaya bar... >grins<
OK, should move stuff like this back into the office, er, back room...
(Someone get the card table out...)
