Where's the mouse, this time?

Post by SED » Sat Feb 03, 2007 10:30 am

My cat has caught and released yet another mouse. Any guesses on where its battered carcase will turn up?

I think you need to sit down and have a long talk with that cat...!

Hmm. I think that Jewel*** might know. (I was going to guess your bed, by your feet....)

Okay, so where's the rest of it? (Maybe in the suitcase in the other thread...?)

It’s in a safe place saved for a rainy day, or maybe retirement, where would your cat consider a safe place? does it play with ants? it could be planning on collecting interest on a half a mouse.

where a foul odor permeates for weeks soaking into the floors and walls around the decaying mice cemetary where your cat make mice sacrifices to his god, Lion. there you will find other mice in varying states of decay- all without heads.

and then people will think strange things of you because the odor seeps into the streets.

If anyone's seen a medium-sized game bird flying in circles, I can tell it where to find its other wing.

Oddly positioned, in your underwear drawer. Ah, you're afraid to look. That fear is good, embrace it.

Some friends of mine have a cat who seems to think paper products are there to be shredded... and has taught their newest cat that belief. Papers, kleenex, paper towels, etc can't be left in the open, or they will later be found in shreds on the floor! Oddly, this doesn't keep my friends from leaving paper products in the open. (I have been trying to decide between moving in with them or moving in with my parents until I find work again. I like their cats, but really don't need to have my books and papers shredded..., well, not ALL of them!)

The mighty hunter
Returns with gifts of plump mice --
Your foot just squashed one

Terrible battle.
I fought for hours. Come and see!
What's a 'term paper'?

Oh no! Big One
has been trapped by newspaper!
Cat to the rescue!

Toy mice, dancing yarn,
Meowing sounds. I'm convinced
You're an idiot.

I don't let Oide outdoors, so he kills his pink loofa dog. He sniffs noses cordially with the hamster through the bars, and tortures the dog by licking her fur. She's terrified of the licking cat.

Well, it hasn't been attempted yet; however, assuming you have not laminated your car or something, they sould be able to turn it into mulch with no trouble!

I got a dead sparrow present yesterday in my upstairs hallway. It was not consumed, just fatally punctured. My query - did they get out to bring it in or did it find it's way in to face kitty buzzsaws?

Well, if you have read H.P. Lovecraft's stories which are set in the Dreamlands, or played the roleplaying game "Call of Cthulhu", which is based upon his works, you would realize that cats have the ability to travel to the Dreamlands at night. While in the Dreamlands they are every bit as intelligent as humans, and have the ability to travel great distances, including to the Dreamlands moon. The Dreamlands being, in essence, a parallel universe based upon (but far from idenitcal to), Earth would almost certainly contain sparrows, or birds very nearly identical to sparrows. It would most likely be that a cat or cats could, by means of magical talents unknown to humans, bring a sparrow from the Dreamlands into your house. The reason they would do so is best answered by another feline, but I would guess that the cat or cats felt it was a suitable present for their human(s).

Either that, or your home has a hole in it somewhere....

I far prefer the Dreamlands explanation.

One of my cats has very long black fur and looks 10 pounds heavier than he is. He has giant vivid yellow eyes that make him always look surprised. So when I ask him about the bird, all I get is that look. (Dead bird, WHAT dead bird? Where? WTF?)

But the description seems remarkably apt.
Damn it, it does look a lot like a bad fitting wig......
I'm going to be sure he has no access to any duct tape.
