This is the 2nd time I've seen this film described as "burny." Okay, I saw it first or 2nd run back when it was released and remember it as rather dry and included turtle murdering.

Like most book based films, it has it's own pacing.
The gift aspect of the film is what I was referring to.
It is certainly no action film.

That was my guess.

It's not that I'm against slow movies, (heck, already in the 80s Pepsi Commericals were exausting me with all those rapid cuts, ect.) It just seemed like a slow and pointless movie to me.

It was out about the same time as another turtle movie--the Last Emporor.

How about a spooky turtle film like Girl in a Swing?
I can't understand the mythology, but it's spooky.
Tilly is in it.
