Twenty-five bucks isn't that shocking, to me anyway.

Way to go green, unjon - A _real_ greenster would have repair the lamp, though. :->

Nice! I see those things going for $50 pretty regularly, with lamps of unknown age.

Now all you need to do is find an old laptop and hack the screen to work with the projector. Make your own computer/home theater projector.

Is it opaque or overhead?
I might be able to help you find a cheaper bulb.
Or you could put a more efficient light in.
Either cooler or brighter and a longer life.
Depends on what you want to do with it.

I think there is a special material that you can run through a standard copier or printer that makes transparencies.
Seems like 80 cents a page.

Sometimes a commercial blueprint shop can make enlargements cheaper than you can.
They are fading away though due to computer cad.
We had one near me that could do b/w up to six or eight feet wide.
If you need any blueprints done, hurry while the machines are still running.
I only found two large ones locally.

Already working on another big, hanging recycled-aluminum dragon to put up there! No projection required!

If you're printing transparencies on an inkjet printer be sure to get the ones specifically made for inkjets. (They have a rough side and a smooth side and you can get them through Phil's link) If you run a reguluar transparancy through one of those printers it won't dry and it will just wipe off.
