No credit is given, and it's apparently altered, for the photo used to illustrate an article on recycling plastics.
Anybody know where this shot came from?

You should talk to the folks building the glacier. The image is from their web site.

Once again:
The photographer holds the copyright on that photograph. There are no identifiable people in the photograph. The org cannot dictate what a photographer can do with their copyrighted photograph.

A lot of people don’t believe the BMorg has a legal or moral right to claim copyright on the artistic expression of others.Teo del Fuego wrote:Many don't know this, but BMorg holds the copyright to every photo taken in or around a desert environment
I think it would have to be a case by case issue, what battles are worth fighting and what kind of imagery are infringements.

BRC LLC does not hold the copyright on every image taken out there- they require the media to get permission before using images they take. Images taken for personal use (other than selling) they don't really care about. It's only when it comes down to money that they jump in.
Could you challenge them in court? Sure. Could you win? Not so sure. "Girls Gone Wild" lost, and they probably have more money than you.
The LLC does hold the copyright (at least for now) on the image of The Man, the street signs, the BRC name, city layout.........
That being said, use your images as you want. Unless you're trying to sell 1,000 posters on eBay you're probably fine.

Normally I would have picked up on that. Lets just say it hasn't been the best week, and leave it there. My humor sensors are a bit awry right now.Teo del Fuego wrote:correct. Unfortunately my humor is drier than playa dust and needs 'splainin' from time to time.Dr. Pyro wrote:Uh Eric, I think Teo del Fuego was kidding.
I hope everyone has safe travels to and from the Playa! See ya at the meet-n-greet!
