I heard that monster-eating machine and Im surprised it made it out for yet another year!

Or you could find the local high school auto shop and see if the teacher would let the students fix it for ya!
Ya know, I used to have this awesome Chevy truck that made really similar noises to BB's. I think it was near... Yeah... Truckee, as I remember. Um Hmm...

I have to admit I was concerned for his ablilty to get off the playa. I'm still (no offense, BB, if you're reading this) amazed that it made it home. No offense, but yeah, that motor sounds like it's about 1 surprise short of a kablewie.

Ya know... I gotta mention, this also from first hand experience... it's a lot cheaper to get it fixed or replaced then it is to have it towed first.

bb
Not to worry. I parked the truck. It's right outside the bar. Behind the blue microbus.

I am not surprised that it made it to BM and back. BM is where I was supposed to be. On the surface of it there are several clear reasons why I should not have gone. Yet it is the place I needed to be. So the universe smiled and I went. And I burnt another box. Maybe even lit some more on fire.

And here's the weird part. That truck was getting only about 10 miles to the gallon the last time I checked it. I was checking the mileage on the trip to and from BM and got an average of 20 miles to the gallon. How's that for the twilight zone?

I am not offended BB. Hey I was the only kid in school who did not give a rats rear about cars. If you pointed at a car and asked me what kind it was I could have told you that it had 4 wheels. I did know all about rockets and could build and fly them. Even experimented with making my own rocket fuels and reloading rocket engines. But I knew squat about cars and did not care.

Good morning from the wonderful land of Iowa....my eyes are starting to glaze over. Corn fields. Hog farms. More corn fields. Oh cool, there went a presidential candidate's tourbus and motorcade. More corn fields. Oh look, a cow! More corn fields. Did I mention I'm sick of fucking corn fields?

At least the rest areas offer wireless internet and a scenic view of, yep, you guessed it, more corn fields. Welcome to my new hell and new bad four letter word: I O W A. If there was ever a place that needed 75 or 80 mph speed limits, this place is it.

So...good morning everyone. And with that, it's back to I-35 again.

Thank you BB!!!! *Slams it down*

My girls are actually in that dreaded 8th-10th grade age right now (Brina's a freshman and Dee is in 8th), TITWI... It hasn't been so bad, but it's definately difficult to deal with how quickly they're growing up. My oldest will be on the playa with me in 2009. I am looking forward to it most days, but I do think I need to formulate some kind of frat-boy repellant. That particular side of BRC worries me most about bringing my girls out...

*SHUDDER*

How 'bout some more whisky? I need to not think about my girls with frat boys EVER AGAIN!

I tried to find a picture of J. Edgar Hoover and OJ Simpson to hang on our wall of shame, but it's no Elvis and Nixon...
