Fossetts does look smoking hot even sitting there.

both are J79 powered - the NAE - (Red ship) has an afterburner though

You have any clue how cold the playa is in October? - COLD.

It's NOT an Art Car. It doesn't have blinky lights and shit on it. FAIL.

as far as i can tell art cars don't need blinky lights and crap , but they do need to look pretty frickin weird and i feel that these are perfect examples of them .

Hardcore? I don't know. But I'll tell you this:
I drive 18-wheelers for a living, part time. Don't really want to, but need the income. When I'm on the road, I sleep in the bunk in the truck. Not quite like home, no. Makes me feel gloomy at times. Then I imagine I'm in my converted school bus on the Playa instead. Makes me feel SO much better!

Fossett vanished flying over deserts in Nevada during BRC 2007
or was it a day or 2 later.

No trace of him to this day.

I was a "jumper" for UPS again this holiday season, which means basically jumping on and off the truck with packages in hand to speed up delivery; I frequently imagined myself jumping on or off of moving MVs instead, and started drawing up designs for retrofit of a UPS truck for the playa...The shelves would sleep about a dozen people comfortably, and the skylights are nice. Just needs a ramp off the back, more lights and a platform on top!

Alas, UPS never sells those vans. They use them and repair them and overhaul them until there is not enough left to bother to repair, and then they scrap them. It's a matter of company image. I'm told they even paint them white before they ship them to the scrap yard. And if you see one being towed after a collision or breakdown, the logos will probably be covered.

School bus, dude.

You know, if someone wants to assess their skills and interests, and then merge them onto a career, does that make them weird or systematic?

I want to learn the health codes, the enzyme chemicals, the dispatch skills, the fucking *mechanics* of how this job gets done, and be taken seriously, and not treated like a nincompoop.

The Bob-ist addage: If you act like a dumb-shit, they'll treat you like an equal." doesn't apply in this instance. I actually have to get SOMEBODY'S ATTENTION, and collect necessary skills...and...I dunno...wait.
