Burning Thoughts
What do you think of when the Man burns on Saturday night?
I’ve been collecting answers to this, and there are common themes. One strong thread: a burner thinks about letting go of a part of themselves that she has held onto up to know. A fear. A façade.
Two burns ago, my thought as the Man was coming down was, “That’s my fear of being creative. Bye!â€

I thought Fuck!
Somebody really did set fire to the man early.

"Everything is more wonderful when you do it with a car, don't you think?"
-girl by the fire, watching a tree moved by car bumper in the bonfire
It would be a shame if I had to resort to self-deception to preserve my faith in objective reality.

"You actually bring your bike to the burn?"
Yea... my accordion weighs about 17 pounds... so I always throw it onto a basket on my bike... love to jam before and after the burn.
I "don't leave home without it"
