Does anyone have plans to hook up a video camera to their telescope and transmit that to a wide-screen TV? Maybe that would be too much trouble.

It would, and it would be sort of boring. But, if someone wanted to project on to a dome, one could download Stellarium (free) and project that. It even has a projection setting for a dome. Could also download Celestia (free) and do the same, although I don't think it has a dome setting, but Celestia lets one fly around the local galaxy in 3D (2 million stars, accurately placed, including known exoplanets) like Captain Kirk (or Captain Pike! Take yer pick). All we're missing are the killer boots and miniskirts. Well, and the dome and projector and laptop...

Awesome! I never get tired of looking at that moon. My friend/ co-camper convinced me to bring the scope. So I will set up at 11 o'clock and the perimeter fence at least one of the nights. If my battery holds out, I'll go for two. If it is not too dusty (storms) in the day,we'll do a little daytime stuff.

Monday might be a good night, since I have PROMISED myself to go a little easy on day one. Blazing drunk and monkeying with that scope is a bad mix.

So glad you're bringing a telescope. I'll be there with a good pair of binoculars. I'm looking forward to seeing more sky wonders than I can see in the city.

If you require battery charging, let me know (Rodney here again). I will have power at my camp (100th monkey camp on the 3:00 plaza) and may be able to help out.
