you did, you did, you did..........DVD Burner wrote:Wait, did I say this already........politics is for suckers?
Cant remember.
I guess it all depends whether you like oysters or snails, now, doesn't it, Spartacus?..........
Yes, you're right of course. I forgot that very important detail!ygmir wrote:I'm pretty sure you have to be "natural born".......IE: born in the U.S. or it's sovereign territories.betrdanevr wrote:Yep. From what I've read, to run for president, one has to be thirty-five years of age and have been a resident of the U.S. for fourteen.
Now, THAT covers a lot of shit.
I prefer to be a little more discriminatory. . .
I'm sure someone will google and post all the requirements.......
oh, so now discrimination is okay?Yep. From what I've read, to run for president, one has to be thirty-five years of age and have been a resident of the U.S. for fourteen.

Quick definitions (discrimination)
â–¸ noun: unfair treatment of a person or group on the basis of prejudice.
â–¸ noun: the cognitive process whereby two or more stimuli are distinguished

I'm of course using the second definition.

Obama tries to end Gang violence and get the guns out of their hands, therefore he is anti-gun right.
Right!
NO! that is a form of misconstruing information to support misconceptions.
It's as good as lying!
If I were to stop illegal abortions by non-physicians, that makes me anti-women rights!
Associative inferences that's all!
Obama has said repeatively I'm not against the 2nd amendment and when I read Toolmakers post and his references, that's what I see!
If toolmakers wants to post something truthful then find a source that is not off the wall like that nut Jeff Rense!

To answer your first question: No.ygmir wrote:So,
if she was a Muslim and that video was of all that soothing music coming from the minaret, and, everyone was on rugs facing mecca, bowing and chanting, would you have the same comment?
Just wondering if you're against religion in general, christianity in particular, or, just Palin...........
Hm.......jkisha wrote:To answer your first question: No.ygmir wrote:So,

To answer your second question: Yes. No, I just have a hard time understanding why otherwise seemingly intelligent people choose to believe so strongly in myth and fairy tale, christian, muslim, whatever. And yes. I think she is totally unqualified to be VP; and the more we hear from her the and other's even in her party, the more my opinion seems to be correct.
JK
i know a lot of people who wonder why so many otherwise seemingly intelligent people choose to believe so strongly in atheism and the ability of the scientific community to answer all of life's unanswered questions. yes, they know a lot ... but there is a hell of a lot they don't know.jkisha wrote:No, I just have a hard time understanding why otherwise seemingly intelligent people choose to believe so strongly in myth and fairy tale, christian, muslim, whatever.
You could have stopped there and that would have been enough.ygmir wrote:
It's interesting how people look at qualifications:
we hate "insiders", but, if we don't like a candidate, we say they don't have enough experience, implying, they should be "insiders"........

Well put!
Can I use that as a sig?
My response would have been the same if she were a christian until her pastor brought 'witches' into his hands on salvation thing--come on now, really. Witches? In the 21st century? Hey, I'm willing to put up with people with the acceptable religious delusions, but witches takes me way beyond the acceptable.ygmir wrote: Hm.......
why would your response be different if she were Muslim?
To say that there is something wrong with the system would also be to say that there is something wrong with our constitution, which is the foundation of the system, and I'm not ready to go there.ygmir wrote:

We don't want "politics as usual" but, again, will point out we want someone who knows how it's done, again implying they'll do the same.......
We want change, but, if it's not the person we want, we point out how that person doesn't know how it works, as if it should be kept the same..........
I'm not for her specifically, I just see a disconnect in logic using those arguments.........
again,
I think I'd like to see a non political, no political experience, person with good sense run...........and, not a lawyer..............
Lets stir it up and really change things.........
First "athiests" don't "believe" in "athiesism", as that implies accepting something on blind "faith" rather than "proof" via the "scientific method".littleflower wrote:

If people want to believe in fairy tales, more power too them. Trust me, I am missing nothing when it comes to religion.littleflower wrote:.
maybe religion is just the opium of the masses, eh? but then, maybe a lot of people need something to hope for that is greater than obama, greater than the democrat's version of government, greater than *any* agenda created by humans. those people don't look to republicans, either. what, then? if you don't see it, fine ... but maybe it is you who is missing something.
BTW i am no one's idea of a religious fanatic... just find the question fascinating....
You are aware that there are anti-witchcraft laws that are currently in use across big chunks of the Muslim world.....yes?My response would have been the same if she were a christian until her pastor brought 'witches' into his hands on salvation thing--come on now, really.
