you always, always think you know what *would* have happened ...

in fact, had mccain won, obama would almost certainly not have conceded, and the democrats would be busy trying to steal the election, just like they did in 2004. kerry stopped it then, to his credit... but it took him a little while, and his supporters were not happy about it. i almost wanted obama to win just to avoid another such scene ... i am very relieved to-day...

but you ... you are so blinded by partisanship ...

emotion and politics are a dangerous combination, IMO.

but i do hope you enjoy your day ... and now, you can get back to work!
blah blah blah, blah blah blah, blah blah.

you know, JK ... i was very happy this morning until i saw this directed at me:
too bad your man and woman lost!

A point of observation on the make up of supporters:

McCain mentions Obama in his defeat speech: Booooos!

Obama mentions McCain in his victory speech: Yeaaaaa!

I dislike poor losers and un-humbled winners
this just sounded to me like a fine example of an un-humbled winner, pot meet kettle moment...

i expect this sort of thing from AZ, so it really didn't bug me much. but i was amazed to see you to jump into his stupid shit puddle.

i know you are a jumble of hangover and mixed elation/disappointment to-day, but honestly ... i am very willing to let the winners gloat ... why not let the losers be grumpy? you can be very gracious .... why not to-day...?

since the demos didn't win control of both houses as I said before for Obama to do what is really needed to get this country back on track. Therefore, I expect a lot of filibusters to throw the monkey wrenches to clog the process. Obama said as much in his acceptance speech.

I thought they do have control of both houses......am I wrong?

ah, so does that indicate some back peddling?
Were the promises made with the (I think you meant filibuster proof 60% majority) caveat of total one party rule and control? I don't remember him saying that, IIRC he just said he'd do it..........

Of course, maybe I heard him wrong.........

Didn't the Senate get 56? And there are two independants that caucus with the Dems making 58; and I think there might be at least two Republicans that the Dems could persuade on important votes to make 60, no?

Its the only sure way to get what is needed.

Obama won through conservative values: hard work, personal discipline, and pragmatism. He also won through progressive values: community organizing, social justice, and tolerance. Both the Democrats and the Republicans should learn from this campaign.

She even threw in a "please." I am not amused. Why all the petty bickering, are you incapable of intelligent debate?

Prop 2 passed, and yet prop 5 did not. This means that we will continue to lock up drug offenders in our already overcrowded prisons, where they will now be subject to worse treatment than farm animals. I guess it's true about how the more things change, the more they stay the same...

Prop 6 would have provided some much needed funding for police and other law enforcement. We shot it down. When your neighbor breaks into your house and steals all your shit while you're out looking for work, desperate because his house is in foreclosure, he just got laid off, and he badly needs to support his newly formed crack habit, don't whine to me when 9-1-1 gives you a busy signal.

NO gay marriage
NO prostitution in San Francisco (this one was pretty close though)
NO renewable energy

Or maybe that was just a belch, I wasn't really listening. Dancing With the Stars was on!

Just to add to the amusement:
Just minutes after their party's longstanding losing tradition lay in tatters on the ground, millions of shell-shocked Democrats stared at their television screens in disbelief, asking themselves what went right.

For Democrats, who have become accustomed to their party blowing an election even when it seemed like a sure thing, Tuesday night's results were a bitter pill to swallow.

It's worth looking at how Obama got the money. A large percentage of it came from a lot of small donors. The traditional big donors also gave a lot, but that would not have been sufficient.

The Chicago political machine helped him get started, but the size of this campaign, even in the primaries, rather quickly went beyond Chicago politics. So, it was crucial at the start, but not so much after the first few primary wins.

Obama also won because of the "ground game." He had more volunteers and they were more motivated. He got most of those volunteers because of who he is and what he stood for, not because they had party loyalty.

And the one thing I will always thank George W. Bush for is that he was a complete incompetent that an African-American finally stood a chance to win the Presidency.

The Chicago political machine, Is there something about "pencil whipping" numbers you do not understand?

Don't get me wrong I expected him to win. 8 years of one party is a LONG TIME.....

But he is still a POLITICIAN, a dam GOOD ONE, with a great speaking ability. I really do enjoy listening to him....

I just don't fucking agree with him on many issues.

I wish him luck. If he does a good job I will support him...

Let's see how he does.

Loosen up by the way.
This is the fucking EPLAYA after all.
