Need Rebar, Will Cane East Bay, Ca

Post by timbudtwo » Thu Apr 16, 2009 11:39 pm

I am trying to keep costs down, as many of my other posts have shown. I am building a geodesic dome and am planning on using little rebar canes hammered into the ground. Thing is, rebar is steel, and steel is expensive. Albeit, I do not need much. However, if someone needs to get rid of, or knows someone who does, some rebar I would be happy to do it. As well, I would be willing to cane up whatever was extra (i'm not making 500 canes, mind you) for a other people if they want it. Ive seen rebar laying around such as at the construction zones at my school, but I do not want to go stealing it. Finding the right guy to talk to is hard on a campus with lots of orange hats and no white hats.

Anywho, just putting that out there. I'm over in San Ramon if anyone is close to that. I would pick it up. Thanks!

Rebar isn't that expensive when bought at home despot. If you are really that tight with the budget try looking around construction sites or demolition sites.

I was thinking this but I didn't want to be imposing. You know, big buff construction men not wanting to be bothered by some kid ;)

And Im not tight on budget, im just being cheap. If I have to buy it I will.
