Lighting Your Camp
How are you lighting your camp and its many attactions?
We have an obstacle course as part of our theme camp. It may be hard to expect people to explore it and enjoy the challenges in the heat of the day. But at night (as it is now) it will be dark; I don't even expect that people will see it without lighting.
I'd like to see if there's any alternative to buying a generator and floodlights to make this happen.

Answers: Yes, sometimes and I'm sure someone can help.
I was thinking propane canisters with a 6 foot extension to get the flame up above people and a bowl to contain the flame. Maybe even a reflector of some sort to direct the light. The moon will be bright, so that will help too.

It's going to be alright.

Box of 12 solar lights that stick in the ground, go to the dollar store and get the Tiki torches. Cut the top of the Tiki tourch off leaving a hole and stick the solar light in the hole.
There you go cheap effective lighting above and if you stick another set of solar lights in the ground you'd be set.

We do solar powered string lights. We get them in 100ft strands off Ebay and Amazon for much cheaper than the website. We love them.

I love my solar powered string lights, but as decoration/marking my tent; they don't provide any sort of useful light.
Coleman makes tiki torches, I don't know if they'd fall under the ban.
Use EL wire to help mark paths/obstacles?
Enjoy the suckers that want to run something called an "obstacle course," provided by barbarians, in the dark?

Obstacle course + barbarians = fierce, toss in no light...I just had this mental image of dumb-asses running into walls in the dark. Like Gladiators (the TV show). But in the dark.

I see what you are saying!
Let's cut the problem into pieces.
If there's no lighting, people may assume that there's nothing going on. But that doesn't require a lot of candle power, my plaster-faced friend.
Thank you for helping me to think this out clearly.
So the solar-powered tiki lights may be sufficient for that.
A real barbarian should be able to navigate our modest challenges in the midnight's dimness.
Can I arrange to get more than one burn barrel? Does anyone know?

I don't know what the dimensions are, but only $1500.

No effect- low voltage.
12 volt fluorescents are the best choice for general light past a low level.
They use more power in cold and starting up.
They are more efficient at higher wattage.
LEDs are the opposite.
Wide angle 1-3 watt luxeon may have an advantage for spaced lights at that level 25-75 lumens generally.
Choices from compact fl to ballast and build your own or complete fixtures.

U-Lite-it is usa made and they have a bulletproof 13 watt unit.
I think I got this cheap chinese fl at Lowes for $20
