places to park cars when groups meet up
places to park cars when groups meet up
I am meeting up with a couple of other people and will drive in one truck into BM. Where can we park cars during the days we are in BM? Any place in Fernley to leave a car for several days. We will pay for a space just so we don't need to park them in reno or so other farther place. Anyone have info on places to leave cars??
thanks,
M

we could but trying to save money
A few of us are from Idaho, california, colorado, etc and if we could all meet up in Fernley we would save some gas and it didn’t seem useful to take up space at BM. Not to mention the possible extra dust getting into the cars. Ecology man :)
No there is not plenty of room..
I disagree with bringing an unnecessary car to BM. If you don't need it don't bring it. It gets pretty crowded towards the end of the week. and it take up space someone could use to camp.

The real answer is: find extra riders from Idaho, California, etc to take up the extra room in said vehicles the whole way. There are plenty of people who need that space. If you don't want to bring your car onto the playa, find a ride instead of a rider.
Trying to coordinate driving times to all arrive in Fernley at the same time will be next to impossible which means many of you will wind up spending the better part of a day sitting by your cars in the middle of freakin nowhere, NV.

If you're bent on leaving your cars in Ferntucky, you might want to try the Flying J truckstop. No guarantees that your car won't be on blocks when you get back, but I do know that truck stops are pretty cool about leaving your cars, at least the Alamo in Sparks is. Mr. Lost drove truck (semi) for years and left his pickup parked at the Alamo for weeks at a time and never had a problem. I'm not sure how they would be during Burning Man though. I'd definately ask before doing it.
