Sometimes the greeters get "slammed" with too many people in line to do justice to your virgins. If that happens, feel free to pull over in the lot to the right at greeter's station and come back to ask for a full baptism. Bring your camera. Ringing the virgin bell and making dust angels is a right of passage.

I'd be pretty miserable if I'm disallowed from doing it as I enter, doing it at any other time, ever, seems like it would be missing the whole point.

I was sick as a dog when I first went into the city and I missed my bell and dust angels.

I'm secretly defiant on the matter.

My daughter went this year and she wouldnt tell me what happened at the gate. Hmmm, should I be scared in 2010? you can always lie......but, when asked the "returning veterans" question, and, if you miss it, you're branded as a "ner-do-well", and, then, sent to see Torquemada, for your initiation...........

don't bother locking the door, you have to let them search........and, if you think you're going to keep the dust out of your tricked RV. well............

I might suggest you read a lot here, and the past threads related to weather and dust conditions out there, before thinking you can keep your RV dust free, especially if your going to open the door..........

not trying to scare or put you off, but, it might be good to do more research into what you are planning, and, expecting.............

lose 'em, and, just have fun.
When you say search... they open all your gear/supplies? I read somewhere about alcohol disappearing during these searches...

Mostly they are looking for stowaways. This means that they look in big containers, large enough to hide a human body. So don't bring uber-large totes and you'll be okay.
I suppose that alcohol does and has dissapered. I'm also resonably certain that it's discouraged by the powers that be. If you're really worried, let it ride shotgun, or at least someplace in vicinity of someone in the vehicle.

I'd say the details of any search are up to the gate person conducting same. But, it's my understanding, that yes, they can open gear.
I've heard of booze disappearing too....not had it happen personally, though. I know, some folks purposely leave a beer or refreshment out, for the searcher, as a gift......I'd imagine, there can be a wide interpretation as to what was left where, as being a gift.......

some of the hard core gaters might see that as a gift..............

it would also seem reasonable, if you're concerned, to accompany them as they search. I don't know of any rule saying you can't.

well you can watch them search your stuff, right? I don't mind giving a beer or 2 and i plan to bring a couple of extra bottles of booze as gifts for bars/theme camps but would like to get through the gate first.
