This is essentially what we do to dry hoses at my FD present day. We recently graduated to something like a metal coat rack on steroids. Vertical accordion folds. Master streams are fun!!! Especially so when aimed at your favorite Lieutenant. Oh sweet payback. Just don't release that thing from it's base when the pressure is on it...Not good.
