2012 will be my first burn.

Post by lovelytaypay » Sat Apr 16, 2011 10:45 pm

Hello all! I will be going to Burning Man 2012 as my first time, so I figured I'd start off early talking to you all and getting as much info as I can.

I'm from San Diego, and I've never been to a burner event, or even a rave. I figured, go big or go home, right?

Good to meet you all! :D

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Thanks! I'm glad to be here. I lurked around the forums for awhile before I joined, but I'm glad I did!

Welcome aboard!

Dr. Dre is turning "oh 12" into something like Coachella, with advertising. But at least the BRC Hilton will finally be finished with the strip mall and interstate -- finally there will be a food court.

True the current year is always better than the previous year, both of which are much more lame than the year before, but of course not as good as next year, but you should go anyway.

I got sidetracked ... oh yea, this is my first year. Keep reading and studying. Look for photos on Flickr and Facebook and videos on Vimeo and YouTube ... there is no shortage of information to at least get an idea of what to expect. Of course, looking at a computer screen and actually being there are two vastly different things.

No, it's exactly the same. The Internet and television are just like the real world, only better. Cars mean freedom, not taxing the wealthy creates jobs, fat people are "healthy," cigarette smoke is good for you, having wet hair outsides gives you a cold, film is dead, debt is good, anything trendy is always good ... not myths at all. They're all true (I saw it on the Interwebs!)

Actually, there is more truth to that statement than you might believe.

Oh, you have no idea. I was planning on coming this year, but some health issues came up, and I had to postpone it. Now I have a scheduled saving for it, and I'll be much less stressed out. :)

Well, since I've never been, I can pretend like I won't know what I'm missing out on this year. Ha.

This will actually be my husband's 2nd burn, he went in 2007, and he's anticipating my Playa cherry popping with frightening glee. o.O

Thanks, I did find it, and I am overly excited. I am trying to sort some things out and see if I can get myself there with my tax return. :)

I was planning on going to Elysium this year, but I read that they had cancelled it. So now I shall aim for Lightning in a Bottle!

YAY! :D
