Ygmir, that was my original thought when I started this thread. I believe that we have been "blasted" back to the stone age many times.

A new find seems to push tool use by Homo back to 1.76 million years.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2011/ ... tone-tools
They are more advanced than the Oldowan tools from 2.6 million years. It seems that primitive man used the same tools for a million years. NOT a quick learner.

Not so sure about that, Zuley - I strongly suspect that the SECOND human to use a stick as a tool made sure it was bigger, stronger and more nicely decorated than the first one.

Here is an interesting book on the subject. It seems that there is more evidence than we thought.

if you want to read something that will blow you away, there is nothing better than this;

Not so much for the information but, for the implications. It is the most fascinating book I've ever read,, and I've read a few.

For as much as that book costs, I can see how you've only read a few. :shock:

Just picked a stone tool..

It has finger groves for four fingers and a opposing thumb for the left hand..
When you grip it, It's like a fender dolly about 3 inches across,, The groves are deep enough to protect you from hitting your hand.. It is made out of hard river rock.. Not sure but I may have the stone hammer/striking tool for this tool.. I picked that a few years ago from around the same spot..

Man has been around for a long time..
