Talk about taking anthropomorphism (and hypocrisy) to extremes.
I eagerly await Wednesday specifically to get my grimy mitts on the Dining section (almost as much as the Sunday exercise in treeacide), I scour the thing from cover to cover, and honestly I didn't even pick up on this was supposed to convey a sexy pose (and that's something that usually doesn't go over my head). Granted when I read the article I salivated and did think of licking one from hea..er, neck cavity to toe and then devouring it but not really in that way (and in that regard I like my meat with some motion). Necrophlia? Bwahahaha
"It's downright offensive, not just to people who care about animals but almost to everyone. It's a plucked, beheaded, young chicken in a young pose,"
Speaking for myself I don't mind the plucked part but I prefer my mates with a head on their shoulders (in fact, that's what attracts me) and young ain't all it's cracked up to be, besides, WTF is a "young pose"? Furthermore, PETA, if you're the arbiter of what's offensive to me I'll eat my cat. In the future please confine your efforts to picketing KFC (which should be outlawed basis the stench of grease alone), enhancing fur coats and getting gullible starlets to doff their clothes.
......and again, I lament the promotion of Sifton.
