I had been singing on my way home.  Rockin' out to the Beatles.  I pulled up to a stop light, and at that moment the song Money came on.   For some reason, the spirit moved me to sing the end of Happiness is a Warm Gun.

Loudly.

With wonderful expression.

Expression that makes late night televangelists squirm nervously and say "Jeeze... chill out, guy."

So I'm screaming, and pounding on my steering wheel.  "WHEN I HOLD YOU IN MY ARMS, AND FEEL MY FINGER ON YOUR TRIGGER... I KNOOOOW THAT NOOOOBODY CAN DO ME NOOOOOOO HARM!"

I turn my head, wide-eyed and crazy and I'm face to face with a 10 year old boy sitting in the back of his parents SUV.

His eyes are as big as dinner plates and his mouth is hanging wide open because he is STARING AT A REAL... HONEST TO GOODNESS... BONAFIDE CRAZY PERSON.

I blinked at him and was, at the very core of me, embarrassed.   I turned my head back to look forward just in time to hit post on Money and SCREAM AS LOUD AS I COULD..."THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE!"
That is fantastic. :D
I kinda felt like I embodied every "Haters Gonna Hate" and "Not A Single Fuck Was Given That Day" image macros as I drove away from that kid.
I love those memes so much.

This is exactly why my last vehicular purchase had air conditionning..... after being embarrassed more than once at red lights, singing my heart out in spectacularly bad voice.

My last few days have been stellar! It's amazing what a positive attitude will do!!

AND today I made peanut butter maple bacon fudge! No chocolate involved here. I've never tried it with chocolate.

I'm waiting for it to firm up and have a piece!! Yayaaaayayayayayay!
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

Nope! I did celebrate happy hour at the local pub Thursday night with 4 lovely ladies though.
I ran excavator 2 days this week digging power trench and backfilling it. Finding the unmarked easily broken concrete sewer line while hand digging to locate the buried cable line was AWESOME! Climbed a bridge 3 times to raise and lower the flags. Got called out for some emergency overtime to repair a hole through the deck of a bridge.
Like was said before. Attitude is everything. It was definitely a good attitude week. It was a fun week too. :D

Heck, running an excavator must be just about one of the most wonderful jobs possible. Almost as good as delivering Guinness in the boat in Venice. (Still my benchmark for cool jobs...)

I went down to Brown's Towne Lounge in Salem last night. BTL was having a "Moustache Party" with both men and women sporting spiffy 'staches of leather and felt made by our own Just Right.
'Twas yet another MASH Camp reunion:
Gene the Queen
Just Right (The CO)
Oregon Red
Dave and Nikki Brown
Kat Hooper
& Shitloads of extras
Amanda was babysitting :( We drank her share though :D
I was introduced to whipped vodka & root beer. Fuckin yum!
Might be a girly drink but it's so tas-tay.
I crashed on Gene's couch. F driving back north @ 1AM. Got up this AM, had coffee and went out for a kickass farm breakfast.
Hell, Salem's only 50 minutes away from where I'm house sitting.
Just got back from the liquor store. Gonna drink the afternoon away...

Went out to lunch with Espressodude, Helga, and Meester Five (Senor Cinco). Good times.

Dayum but I've been getting out doin things and seeing people while I've been in town. I'm wondering if Sweetpea'll let me live with Mish 1 month and with her the next and alternate :D

you can do that for a living why did the career advisor never mention these jobs when i was at school? I mean i go round peoples houses and fix broken windows which involves (usually) someone having and accident, blood (sometimes my own) late nights (they usually break them at night) ladders at ridiculous height (fucking hate ladders) and arguments witht the second lowest form of life (traffic wardens)
If i had known about delivering guiness on a boat in venice as a job option i would have developed fucking gills or at least become a better swimmer.

It is tremendously fun but I am always edgy about hitting an unmarked underground utility and then dealing with the aftermath.

Pretty much exactly what I think. Maybe we should roam the world after next year's burn and invade high schools and tell their guidance councilors that they aren't doing the guiding right.

So excited! Went and checked out an RV to buy yesterday, it's $800 and needs very little done to it. It's needs a good scrub, the tire needs to be put on, and a spark plug cable replaced. The inside has good space (it too could use a good scrub, slip covers, and a coat of paint). But it's in pretty great condition for '77! Can't wait to bring it home and get to work on it! Just thought I'd share my good news!
