I've seen bits for sidecutting, but, as Elorrum says, they can be squirrely.
some sort of fine tooth, narrow, reciprocating blade, if not a plasma.
the jigsaw, has a foot that sits against your material, holding it solid, and, you can watch the blade cutting edge, through your safety glasses just fine........
abrasive cutting wheels on thin material, get eaten up pretty darn fast, and, as Gyre points out, tend to want to go straight, if you're cutting very deep on them at all. If anything, perhaps rough cutting with a jigsaw, and, a grinder to finish the edges?
lots of ways to do it, one will work best for you.
Do you have some practice material? That might be a good idea.
