when the day comes that my burn must include pretzels so much that I stock up on them 40 days out from the dust. I'm bound to forget one of the minor details, like a ticket.

I just read about some poor virgin that is planing on travelling with another virgin being bike tourist to the burn, and they'll be oun our route down from The NW. Scares the crap out of me just driving in, add a bike hippie from Eugene and *Shudder*

TPMB handles virgins with kiddie gloves.

No, I had pretty much the same thoughts. Mean, maybe, but they weren't uncalled-for.

I feel like at a concert, you are expected to shut up, listen (or scream, or sing along), and watch the show, whereas at a nightclub, that's only a suggestion.

TPBM thinks I have it all wrong -- not necessarily about the above statement.

Nope. Fuck them. If I buy a ticket to a rock show, they'd better be singing and damned well better do a good job of it. Fee for service.

Why yes I can. It means perfectly tuned; optimized; well-coordinated; everything is in perfect condition.

tpbm knows where the saying, "Where in the Sam Hil..." came from.
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

I'm guessing it's a bowdlerized version of "Where in the Hell," but that's just a guess.

No, I just find the whole word "pack" to have so many layers, that I can't actually do anything with it.

Almost. I've already paid for 2 bags each, but I think we're going to drive a bunch of stuff across the border the weekend before and ship it to Reno to minimize the customs hassle (not to mention the carrying of heavy crap) at the airport. And, yeah, I've had fantasies about shipping everything except my wallet, passport, and the clothes I'll be wearing.

TPBM figures that getting on a crossborder flight for a 2-week trip without baggage would make my trip through security and customs far, far worse.

Actually, I wouldn't bet on it - I went to and from Europe recently with just a carry-on backpack and had no exceptional trouble from TSA, and I seem to be the one always searched. Not that I mind, I make sure to arrive in plenty of time and be helpful. Those people have tough/boring enough jobs as it is.

TPBM abhors airport security.
When he lights his streetlamp, it is as if he brought one more star to life, or one flower.
When he puts out his lamp, he sends the flower, or the star, to sleep.
That is a beautiful occupation.

I don't mind the screening bit, but I dislike the whole air of suspicion and fear at airports. Customs, though... *shudder.* OK, most of my experiences have been fine. But two in particular left me shaken and weeping, despite having done nothing wrong.

Well, Asshole is a game, and it starts with A, and I do enjoy it... but no, I won't be bringing it to the playa. I'll have played enough in the weeks leading up to Burning Man, and playing cards are a MOOP disaster waiting to happen (if you're as clumsy as I am).

TPBM has hilarious, secret plans for playa mischief!

A game? A game? Well, I did buy this game called conflict, but it was for the cute pieces, not because I had to bring a game to the playa.
"hilarious" and "secret" are not my strong points.
TPBM has already picked out his/her game to bring to the playa.
