Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

Ha!
Well, it seemed like such a ludicrous statement at first, and I know you aren't affected as such, but then I thought you might be commenting on a general hunger for fame.
I can understand wanting the perks, but fame itself?
Baffling.

From the number of fantasy soap operas they call 'reality shows' , someone must want this.

I've been through this a few times, mostly mistaken for someone else, sometimes because of people I was with, and on occasion as myself.
Want to know what it feels like?
Exactly like serving food to the dpw, except the commissary is much more fun, and the people are nicer.

For a punchline, I was on the news about three minutes ago. Painful.
I've been on the national news before too.
Five minutes later, no one remembers.

Big secret for other shy people;
Nobody else gives a fuck.
Nobody cares but you.

Oh, thanks for refreshing my memory. It's been a while. :)
Yeah, what happiness can be gained from fame? Some ego-strokes for a damaged soul, perhaps?
Yeah, it's baffling.
Oh, I will take the wealth, though. Thank you very much. ;)

Not exactly true. While Ryan says he may not PERSONALLY agree with it, his political position is that it is up to the people of the various states to decide. While this may be hard for "progressives" to understand, there is a thing called "federalism" which both Romney and Ryan are strong supporters of. That means allowing the people of the various states to decide how they want to live without shoving a central social ideology out of Washington DC, even when that state might decide to take a path different from your own personal views.

Not to mention that it's so heavy with extraneous content that you spend hours (figuratively and subjectively) to get 2.5 paragraphs of opinion that's more cute that substance... I wont even click on links that go there, anymore. Waste of time/bandwidth/anything else you care to name...

He can break ties in Congress, cut ribbons, that's about it.
