I haven't had fresh clam juice in years... I remember the clam press we had set up in a cabin over near the coast. We'd trick the clams into wandering into our clam traps, up on the cliffs, by making "clam-in-trouble" calls... pathetic little voices, piping so high and clear, like a clam with it's foot stuck in a rock as the tide comes in... and all the other clams would come marching up the shore in little clam brigades, each one with it's leader, rushing to help what they thought were fellow clams with an extremely poor sense of direction.

Then, after they had entered the traps, it was just a matter of picking out the weaker males, throughing them in the clam press, and climbing in in our bare feet, and pressing the juice out of the poor, misguided, little bivalves. Eventually, like with the baby seal slaughter, the State of California baned the clam slaughter, but it is good to see that enlightened states, such as the one you're in... allows the free harvesting of male clams. It actually strengthens the herd to cull the weak ones.

Ah... those were the days.

Of course I was doing alot of peyote and tequila at that time, so those may not have been the days... but I remember something about clams... I think...

I don't think whiskey has ever been neat at least not when I am drinking it. It tends to get a bit sloppy....oh wait that's me not the whiskey.
