the problem is that keyboard manufacturers produce shitty keyboards without a gap around the A and Capslock

nobody gives a shit anymore, its easier to produce $9 keyboards that last 1 year than make quality ones that last 30.

Ah, the wonderful IBM Model M with buckling spring technology. Even back in the 80s they were $100 a piece, and sell for about that now too. I've got a few that were selling at some old surplus place for $5 each.

On the upside you can still find new keyboards with mechanical key switches, and cost over $100. Granted some of them might have back-lighting, extra keys, touch screens, or even a big old nob.
