I had the same fucking problem when I got my new computer, turns out a firmware upgrade was the fix. (get the exact model number, serial number, well all numbers - from the bottom of you wireless router and then log onto the manufacturer's web site, find "support/downloads". Pick your exact model and then follow the instructions to download/update the router's firmware. NOTE: Make sure you do this with a wire plugged into the modem and whatever computer you are using. [yes, I have killed a couple fucking routers not following that advice] )geospyder wrote:[RANT] Nothing fucking serious just fucking irritating. Received a new laptop today. Setup was fairly simple except it doesn't stay connected to my WiFi router. I have two smartphones, a TV, a desktop and another laptop that have no problem connecting so I'd venture to say it is not the router. The fucking irritating part is that every so called "fix" involves connecting to the internet to download something. How the fuck am I supposed to download something when my problem is that I can't connect to the internet to begin with! Fuck Fuck Fuck [/RANT]
