I think Hawai'i should devolve to the polynesians.

As you command, my queen. I do love the Yukon, and the NW territory, and agree on Alaska.

Within reason. We don't want to get too big.
Honestly, I think sheer size has a lot to do with the failures of both the US and Canada's governments. Real talk.

I would love to extend as far South as San Jose.
But we have to keep in mind that the further we scootch South, the (much) higher our country's population.
Much smaller increments going North.

I totally agree with north, and low population.
Elliot and I are a fair ways north of the Bay area, so, maybe dipping just to Elliots latitude?
Maybe, a dive inland to avoid LA and surrounds, skirt Vegas, but get northern AZ?
Or, maybe allow Northern AZ as a colony?

just thoughts.

Alaska might be willing to gift Anchorage to you but you would have to ask nicely (and perhaps throw in some boot(y) to get any more of the state. :D :D

I dunno..........most of the folks in AK that I know, would rather not be associated with the "lower 48" anyway.

It just so happens that we have plenty of booty in Cascadia.
Booty-full, you might say.

Yggy, they still wouldn't be associated with the "lower 48". ;) They'd be Cascadian!

Side note: how many states are we taking with us? Washington, Oregon, part of California, what else...?
If we leave part of California (and parts of other states) in the US, I suppose that would be down to the "lower 46".

no, I meant that they'd probably gladly leave the "lower 48" for us.
and yeah, you're right, might end up "lower 46"........well, to bad, so sad. We'll be revelling in oysters, smoked salmon, fir trees and moose !

One David Little, Editor of the Chico Enterprise-Record, has written a column about the State Of Jefferson. Little's tone is light-hearted, but there appears to be fresh interest in the old concept of a State Of Jefferson, comprised of Southern Oregon and Northern California.

Cascadia.....hmph. Why name it after the subduction zone it sits on, or does that matter?

After all, subduction leads to orogeny........

What?
No northern Nevada? Black Rock desert?
I propose that northern Nevada from highway 50 north, to just west of Lovelock (who wants them party poopers), should be encluded. Would not add to many extra people.

not to mention the frozen methane in the trench just off the coast, that could be disturbed by said quake or eruption. I'm told, it could suffocate everything withing miles of the coast........
