Been to court by choice aplenty. Remember fossa it's never as bad as you anticipate.

TPBM wishes they only worked 40 hours a week.

I actually work part time.
TPBM is fascinated by those metal disks (nails?) used by surveyors (as "benchmarks"?).

Definitely. I've actually stumbled upon a few in some rather remote places in the mountains around LA, usually one's demarcating the corners between towns whose borders end in the range. I feel really sorry for the guy who has to hike up there with surveying equipment as part of his job.

TBPM has some awesome hiking stories they'd like an excuse to share.

I have a connection with reptiles and amphibians. On several occasions I have predicted, (out loud), that there will be a horned toad, snake lizard, snake or other beastie around the next turn. Creepy even to me.

TPBM has a plausible explanation.

I'm guessing you might have a sharp sense of smell. Snakes don't smell much, but their leavings can.

The person below me has been bitten by a poisonous snake before.

You would think that I could, given that my degree is in English. Alas, my focus was literature.

TPBM is a math person.

Fuck.Math. I managed to graduate with a degree in engineering while hating math with a fiery passion. I swear I made a conscious effort to forget most of the math I'd learned once I thought I'd finished my final math class at UCLA. Then I discovered one of my upper div. engineering courses was sneakily titled "the mathematics of engineering" and got the worst grade I've ever received in any level of education. Oh well, I got my degree all the same and now I'm a personal trainer, so fuck it.

The person below me is working in a field they actually planned on going into from a young age.

I can't stand holiday music period. Christmas was always the saddest time of year for me, from early childhood right up through college. Three years in a row while at UCLA I volunteered to work 18 hour shifts from Christmas Eve through Christmas Day just to keep my mind off of things. Spending that time alone in the empty dorms was less lonely than the alternative. On the bright side, the amount of time I spent working retail in high school did make me fairly adept at tuning it out when it does come on.

TPBM has had at least five radically different jobs in the course of their life.

Not really radically different, but Construction, Mercedes dealership, Security, Nursery and Teaching people to ride horses pretty well spans the choices. Trying to stay away from retail.

TPBM just picked up a new hobby
The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.

Yeah, we're probably due. Thankfully I've got a sturdy desk and plenty of supplies left over from the burn so I'll be snug for a few days if anything happens.

TPBM is a full blown prepper even apart from their burn prep supplies.
