Ah, I had some similar surgery decades ago. The air passages thru my sinuses were opened up for freer breathing and fewer infections. And it helped a good deal.
And I know that when I was still a teen, they had to puncture one of my eardrums to let pressure or gunk out. Apparently that healed back up just fine.
These days, of course, the medical skills are far advanced from my days. I bet Samantha will be pleased as punch with the results. :D

Happy to hear the good news, YG. And what's so shameful about having emotions that spill out sometimes. It happens to me quite frequently and those who know me do not think less of me for it. And I am certain that none of us think less of you for it either. Quite the contrary. Once again, Fishy's got it right. Give Sam a hug for me! Good to hear your experience with this procedure, Elliot.

Hahahahahaha oh gosh (((Yggy))) 8) 8) 8) having done that "last goodbye" from both sides of the stretcher I can tell you with 100% confidence that you must have intimitated the living shit out of that crew for them to burst out laughing when they saw your tears. I am sure they went from planning the quick escape route to total relief in less than a second, which is why they lost their cool. It must be your meek demeanor and diminutive stature...

Good to know your daughter is okay. 8)

Now I need some :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: One of our doctors came by our office just now with some delicious home-made butter cookes, oh gosh... :D :D :D

I'm glad it went well for your daughter yesterday, ygmir. My nephew's wedding was nice. Dinner was long and in a very noisy dining room, so the bores did not hold sway. Very interesting food. I had a nonalcoholic cocktail with lime chili and coconut water that I would like to reproduce. Dressing up went well.

It's horrible that men are not permitted to cry.

it takes rigorous training in the art of sociopathy to uphold these standards.

ah, thanks gang. I was not ashamed, of crying. It was more my reaction, to them all laughing, I think.
haha funny how instinctive it was to turn away from the (I'm sure unintentional) ridicule.

feeling almost "hung over" today.......I guess yesterdays stress and angst? Seems it could send a person off balance.

Glad to hear that Ygmir's daughter is OK. Superb. Good thoughts sent her way for fast and uneventful recuperation.

After the completion of the legendary comedy trifecta last year (standing on a corner in Winslow AZ, drinking a Sprite in Limon CO and sipping Jack Daniels on Old No. 7 Road locally), I'm seeking new vistas of mindless stupid hilarity.

Any simple suggestions?

I know it looked like shit, but I did my best, and my family scored me high points for effort. I find that just having shoes that feel a bit more difficult to wear than sneakers, and earrings and a necklace, make me hold my head a little higher. I'd be willing to try it again some day. With interviews on the horizon, its' time to work that a little bit.

Ygmir, Happy to hear that all went well for your daughter. It is so streesful when someone you love is ill.

The shortest day of the year is here, the days only get sunnier for the next six months.

yay, it's Bin!!! *offers cheeks*
glad to see ya droppin in Pal!!

ha Delle: I'd never be sorry you were at a Hof party.

ok, so just back from 4 hours at the E.R.:
my daughter reported blurred vision this morning, so, I told her to call the doc.
Doc didn't call back by noon, so, she called again...foogin nurse says "she'll get the message, when she gets it".........(IMHO, non valid response), so I told her to call back. Doc then calls back and say to go to the E.R. (3 pm by then). I meet her and her friend at the E.R. and note one pupil fixed and dilated!!
I freak.
the intake nurse at the E.R. says "ok, thanks, there are lots of people ahead of you , go take a seat".
I state, clearly and as politely as possible:
"did you notice, her uneven pupils, and that she states she's losing sight/vision progressively through the day, and even in the last 10 mins?
do you understand, the can mean brain or nerve damage?" The nurse responds: "no, I didn't notice the eyes, but please sir wait"
I say:" Please, mam, understand, if this is getting worse, and it is, and if it's a brain or nerve thing I'm kicking someones ass, in a figurative sense"......
she gave me the "fuck you " look, and then looked away.
but, 2 mins later, and orderly came out, looked at her eyes and took her right back!!!!!!

SHIT!! Poor dad here is freaking out, his kid might be having a stroke or whatever, and they say "take a number"? ........really? no, really?

Yes, I understand triage......I also understand stroke and such, and dangers related to time.
I'm just glad I was there, to force the issue.

so, they did a CAT scan with contrast, and said it seems no stroke, bleed, or clot........."whew"......so now, they don't know what's wrong, though.
and of course, no opthamologist available. So, they sent her home, and to go see the Opthamologist, tomorrow morning.

Yes, I need to drink, again.........

Now i'm worried too. Hope things turn out ok and it is just a lot of worry, nothin' else.

Good on you for pushing the issue. When it comes to that; always ask for their name. It makes them nervous. And is good to have if things do happen to go south.

yeah, I've found with our hospital here, you have to be almost aggressive, to get them to pay attention and take you serious. I try so hard to be polite, but at a point stupid/lazy/apathetic gets met with slightly edgy voice, angry look and specific questions and instruction. Demands, if you will.

Hi FJ!! Thanks for the 'tune!!

I have to call the ophthalmologist this morning, and report my daughters condition, to see if we need to go see him.
her pupils are still different sizes, but not as dramatic as yesterday, and vision seems somewhat improved.....so hoping it's some transitory thing from drugs/surgery trauma...........
